@FlashIV: Exactly. In my case I'd put my 180lb body ON my dog and have him step on the scale... Great Dane who, last I checked, weighed 177lbs (No fat, all drool). That puts me at the 350-360 range... You can tell Japanese people do not own monster-sized animals!

I don't know why a lot of you are so upset about this idea. Suppose you are going to buy Wii Fit. Buying it to weigh your pet certainly isn't the PRIMARY reason that you do. Hell, they can weigh your pet at the vet's office while you take them in every month, so quit acting like doing it on Wii Fit is a selling point at all.

Yes, it's a silly idea. I'm not going to disagree with you. My own (medium-sized) dog doesn't enjoy being lifted off the ground, though she can be, and I can imagine that other people have pets that a) dislike having no feet on solid ground OR b) are generally too large to do this with.

I wouldn't worry about it. If you're really that intent on bashing the thing instead of calmly letting it pass by your radar, then you can surely do it for what it'll mainly be used for.

For me, the Wi crossed the line when I found out that half of their most heavily marketed games either suck or are crappy PS2 ports that I played on the PS2 a year ago.
