Congrats to Australia. Europe's Nintendo Club is kind of restricted to certain countries and that is quite a pain from time to time. I live in Finland and here WAS some kind of Nintendo Club, but it apparently ditched out at some point and now we can't be part of it, as UK and Germany and Sweden and others have theirs. It's just bogus but maybe someday Nintendo will bring it back.

Unlikely, the star system works by games including a card with a scratch panel. Under the panel is a pin which you input online to claim your stars. So unless they've been including these all along I doubt they'll go to the trouble of finding a system of how to let people register their back catalogue.

Really it's pretty poor compared to the Japanese offering. Europe only very recently got anything semi-decent added to ours as before that it was nothing but wallpapers/ringtones. Oh and the occasional game that was sold out the moment it hit the site and cost more stars than you had anyway.

I just recently traded my 8k star points for 2k Wii points. The 4:1 conversion ratio was pretty sucky but at least they're being useful now.

I know the Club Nintendo in Japan is pretty awesome. with cool Famicom controllers, Mario Kart themed Gamecube controllers, etc.
But the European Stars Catalogue sucks. It is very rare that anything you might actually want is put up on there. I've grabbed a copy of Star Fox Adventures, a GBA keyring and a Captain Jack Sparrow - more out of desperation than anything else. 40 games (and 4 consoles) worth of Nintendo stars got me that lot - that's approx £1000 spend for £40 value.
I recently traded my last 4000 stars for 1000 Wii Points - vaguely more useful...
