@amazinglarry: Perhaps that is intentional. The click clack of the feet gives you one more thing to think about while playing and distracts you from the puzzle, making the harder puzzles that much more frustrating.

The music was sweet... but when it comes to puzzle games, I can get flustered pretty easily, and it's sounds like that 'walking' one that would push me over the edge of insanity.

Some of the last ones looke amazingly hard.There's one that looks like a building with 4 walkways intersecting in the middle,multiple staircases and multiple characters.
(You have to move one to make the other move apparently)

I played this for a while, and it didn't 'feel' right to me. It was awkward to control and sometimes, it didn't like the way you lined things up or was VERY picky. Grade A concept, but seemed like if they had some minor design tweaks, it could have been a grade A game.

I think the greatest thing about this game is the combination of music with the overall atmosphere.
For those that have played the demo you know how at the end the music keeps playing the simple but uplifting strands as the end advises you of one thing: Find the way.

So...what do you shoot in this game? Those environments are fully destructible, right? When you accidentally fall through a hole, where are the multiple cutscenes graphically depicting your death? Is there online play, so over the classical music I'll be able to enjoy the sound of some ritalin-addicted 13 year-old calling me a "queerbait" as my avatar ascends a staircase?

As someone who likes video games but is tired of shooting enemies in the face, echochrome makes me really happy.

I'm still hoping to see Patapon(already have it) on PSN.It's done by the same guys that did Echo and it would be a good seller for the non psp owners.

Like some of you I have played thru both the Japanese PS3 and PSP demos a few times. Yes, that is the music for the game. It is a harder game that it seems. It feels a lil awkward at first untill you get a feel for the level design. I just don't see why the PS3 version wasn't just remote play enabled instead wanting us to buy a home version and one for the road. But I guess not everyone is willing to find a hot spot for that feature. I also see a trend of publishers wanting gamers to do all the creating on certian games and get little to know credit. If they do offer the DLC of user content it better be FREE and if the DLC costs the users BETTER get a piece of da action.

The Japanese demo was excellent, but to be honest I thought it could be a bit touchy at times with the level of precision things have to line up with. I think people should be allowed to experiment more with the demo levels than is possible currently. That being said, I think it could be on par with a game like Everyday Shooter in my opinion.

I'm not much of a puzzle person but I might buy this anyway. Its such a simple concept that its brilliant. Whats also amazing is that someone whos unfamiliar with this could see it under your game section and be intrigued. It could make for a great conversations tarter.

I read on the blog comments that you can share user made levels with friends via PSn mail,email,memory stick or on PSP Ad-Hoc wireless network. Both versions are separate so no level sharing PS3 to PSP or vice versa. All user made content packs will be free.

Music reminded me of the music from the PC game Arcanum (if anyone remembers that). Parts were also similar to the Fawlty Towers theme song ;)

Also, this marks the first time I've actually been jealous of the psp/ps3-owning types. Very compelling.

I have the Asian version (the one in English). Get's pretty tough after a while, but it was fun. I might pick the American one at this price though, or at least the PS3 version, since playing on a big screen might be nice.

If they made it so developers could mess with physics and things like that in their Home rooms and make the rooms act similar to the way the game environment works. I would love to be able to walk into a R&C room and be able to shoot a gelatonator to be able to bounce around the room, or walk into the Echochrome room to see people walking on walls and spinning shit around, or walk into the Uncharted room and see an obstacle course with vines you have to climb and logs to cross and such. Then, maybe they could even add in the weapons of those games and things like that so while in the lobby you could play a mock version of the game to hone in on your shooting skills and such. It would be a cool way to actually have some multiplayer aspects to the games that don't have them, even if the rooms were watered down versions of what the game is.

I played the Japanese psp demo and it was pretty interesting. I can imagine it getting extremely difficult, like some of those huge levels shown in the video. It seems sort of stupid to be able to make custom levels in a puzzle game. But gamers always do crazy stuff when they have a tool like that so maybe it will be cool.
