The song is titled Cleaning Up the Town on the Ghostbusters soundtrack, and was sung by the Bus Boys.

As for the Ectomobile vs Ecto-1 controversy, while it is unnamed in the movies themselves, it was called the Ectomobile in promotional material and related material. For example, I have my Ghostbusters book right here (I got it just after the movie) and it says Ectomobile. Since it is not named in dialog, you need to refer to materials accompanying the film or to interviews. I don't have interviews, but if you look up the script, it is called the Ectomobile in the script itself. Ecto-1 is used more to distinguish the specific model of Ectomobile from the other versions and also as the license plate.

Good luck getting on, Cadillac only made 900 of those cars that year. Someone last year sold a replica of this car for $150,000.00. Granted the guy was claiming it was an original. . . made alot of people angry with that stunt actually.

Also: First off, I have always called it the Ecto-1. The cartoon always referred to it at the Ecto-1, as the helecopter was the Ecto-2 and the motorcycle was Ecto-3. In the movie script, I believe its called the ectomobile. So everyone is right. Now stop your arguing and drool over this part of our childhood.

As I stated above, I saw the car and that was about a year ago. A couple other people in the comments have said they saw it in Minnesota too. I wouldn't be surprised if they take it around to some car shows.

Before that, I saw it on Halloween '07 in downtown Minneapolis, except their were 4 guys getting out of it and gearing up with their Ghostbuster backpacks and such. I thought it was just a very detailed and extreme halloween costume at that point (and maybe it was).

Point being, I think this was originally created not for the purpose of advertising, but some guys idea of fun. Then he saw a way to make some cash on the side and went for it.

Also, Minneapolis is awesome and under appreciated for what we have here, so it's always great when we get some sort of publicity.

The Siren never worked for the movies actually. It was dubbed over in post production. I know some fans who own replicas of the car have custom sirens for that famous sound, but I don't know if they did that for this restoration of the original car.
