As a side note, the coloring on the Super Famicon controller was also used for generic controllers in the US, so it always takes me a second to remember that this is a 1st party controller and probably doesn't stick horribly like the generics.

Club nintendo stuff can usually be gotten off ebay rather easily. I got the DS exclusives, the mario hanafuda cards and a few other items this way.

Yea there expensive. But if you live over there the only way to get them is by a points system. The conversion rate for points to free stuff really sucks. It would take roughly 12 Wii game to get the controller.

I think I know how to put an end to this "_______ ONLY" [write name of specific territory] once and for all, videogames and their necessary hardware should be declared as Heritage of Humankind, as a living example of human societies of the last 35 years and beyond.

That way not only would some articles of historic significance be preserved, but it's the first step towards the end of this "location discrimination" sort of thing.

Also, am I wrong, or is everything SNES-related becoming a worship object? I'm really starting to think that there is a huge amount of people who do believe this 16-bit diamond really was the greatest console of all time, and I don't mean just those who voted for the Kotaku survey some months ago.

2nd, I remember seeing an article a week or so ago about Nintendo making new Gamecube controllers for the Wii in Japan only. I was a bit perplexed that they are ACTUAL gamecube controllers. Why don't they just make them like they did these where they attach to the bottom of a wiimote. KNO MOAR COARDS PLOX?

I hope there's an N64 pad for the Wii at some point, even an adaptor to use old N64 pads would be great, but so far we've had nothing. The classic pad and the GC pad are completely useless for some N64 games, especially ones that need the c-buttons which are clumsily mapped to the right analogue stick.

...I still have my SNES-style GameCube controller they made, very nice for things like the MegaMan collection and the GBA player. Of course I also still hoarde all my classic systems so I can usually just play classic games with the original hardware...

i'm guessing the triggers on it are analog, to make for the wii-game playing.

It was only the US that got the weird ugly purple brick-SNES, though, so my SNES had those lovely controllers. Untill my brother broke all of them as a result of mario kart fury.
