@TheIrishNinja: No,but i have played Origins and followed every bit of information about it.It just doesn't feel like the first games in the series anymore...and it's something that started with the 4th game maybe even the 3rd one but at least those two still were survival games.
This may sound a bit racist but i never liked the idea a western developer developing a Japanese game.Yes,we all know that the location of the game is based in America but it was made from a foreigners point of view.Japanese horror is very different from American horror.I'm not saying it's better or worse,just different.
I think this series needs some major changes and i don't think that double helix with their focus on the success of SH2 are the ones to make the next step.
But each to his own,i guess.

You are supposed to figure out how to get pass the zombies and that was what the whole game was about.

Just Sight-Jack him and wait for him to look somewhere else other than where you were gonna go.

it's confirmed... famicom has spoiled sony's surprise... siren 3 (new translation)... release date = 7/24 in japan... it seems like a follow up on siren 1... from different perspective (foreigners??)... that kinda justifies why the voices on the website are in english...

@slomo788: Buy it when its cheap since its a rather polished game in terms of graphics and the gameplay isnt too bad either.

Its a lot nicer than other titles that have come out reciently.

If it goes down to a low price Id say its worth picking up and playing through.

OMG FINALLY!!!
The reason I got a PS3 wasn't for MGS4... it was actually for Siren 3 =)
Resident Evil has that pop out of no where scariness, and Silent Hill's got that sick twisted wtf scariness, both were good but not like the experience Siren gave me. I guess it was because you are more helpless in Siren. They introduced characters with more powerful weapons in part 2, wish they would take that away in 3, cuz the helplessness was what did it for me in the first game.

Too bad I don't think non-Japanese speakers can enjoy this game as much cuz of it's Japanese only theme and cultural references. Maybe they'll do better translations and better voice acting this time so people other than Japan would not put the game down right away upon hearing the voices.

Well the series is from the original creators of Silent Hill 1, and I think most would agree that was the best in the series, so here to hope part 3 will be as good as Siren 1.

yeah, no siren 2 for the USA, which is a shame. and for whoever mentioned a fatal frame sequel, there's one coming out relatively soon for the wii. it should be out in america by fall.

to me, siren will always be the hardest, and scariest horror game ever released. far from the best horror game since it has some glaring flaws in the gameplay(aka, the most frustrating experience i ever had as a fan of horror). but it's still worth the trouble to experience. i hope they shove siren 2 out here to the states on the cheap before they give us siren 3.

Siren had an amazing amount of promise for a great story and reinventing the genre and gameplay of survivor horror. Unfortunately even with the walktrough each level (of which there was like 80) took me tries and over an hour... I may just not get it... the way you play... the game... with the looky-loo psychic voyeur mind cam... and me constantly dying...

The game was on that release list that leaked out about a month ago (the one that had the Ratchet and Clank expansion on it).

Now all we need is for someone to bring Siren 2 to the US. It's a no brainer being that it was already translated to English.

Siren was a great game, with flaws , but was the game that better captured the feeling of the japanese horror movies...
Now with silent hill being done by US devs this is going to be the only japanese horror game , at least till a new fatal frame is announced :P

It's Siren 3; I can tell from the audio cues (hiragana be damned)!

I really wanted to like Siren, but it was a trial-and-error sneakfest with very little margin for error, and those games frustrate me. Not so much a survival horror game as a stealth horror game.

I think I can pretty much confirm siren ATM. The black stuff on the right side of the screen is half of the "sa" hiragana character. Siren would be spelled something along the lines of "Sairen" in Japanese.
