This game was designed on the 360, with the 360 as lead SKU.

Heres what you get on PS3:

1. Lower framerates
2. No AA (rougher looking visuals)
3. HDD install (4gb ish)
4. No DLC in any shape or form.

Whayhay, the PS3 version is obviously the one to go for to get all of those exclusive features.

If you have a PS3 and NO 360, buy the PS3 version.
If you have both 360 & PS3, buy the 360 Version.

This gives me about 11-12 days of straight GTA, no interruptions. Now on another hand I've noticed a bunch of people saying they don't care, think the games suck and so on. Well I certainly don't fit into that lot, but I do agree that one game doesn't necessarily do it everyone.

For example, I never ever could understand why Half Life was so popular, caving in to pressure I even bought HL2 collector's edition and consider the best thing about the game to be the relatively snazzy t-shirt. Now.. PORTAL, that's a completely different story, same thing with Garry's mod and things like that, but I played through all of HL2 and Episode One and found it to be some of the most boring gameplay and banal story I've had the displeasure of trudging through.

Anyone else have any really popular series that they dislike or don't enjoy?

If you plan to enjoy all the new multiplayer features, you'll want the XBox. Not a fangirl, I have both; but I NEVER play multiplayer on the PS3. It's like the difference between driving a Porsche or a Model T ford. The PS3 HAS multiplayer, and the Model T will get you where you're going; but all the features that make it fun are on the Porsche and the 360.

now, the plan was to take that monday and tuesday off, but at work, i'm the only one who can do what i do. so, unless i can train someone to fill in for me (which i have been doing, but it's taking a lot longer than expected), or i get far enough ahead in my work (which probably won't happen), i'm pretty much screwed.

@Kojiro: Yeah you just don't need to comment in posts like this if you don't like GTA as a series already. I'm sure there will be plenty of better articles as the game comes closer to release and afterwards that will focus on its weaknesses (because no matter how good a game is, it always has some), and then you can chime in with something appropriately derisive and clever :)

Once they shove the IV into you, you're gone in no time.

The pain is the real kicker. The surgery itself is no problem unless they have to rip the teeth out, like in my case. Two of my three that were growing in, had to be cut from the jaw.

After the fun meds wore off it was tons of blood, lots of itching and an assload of hurt. The icecream and soups made it worth it though.

That and not having the wisdom tooth pain ya know.

Instead of asking everyone else, why not spend ten dollars on one of the old GTA's like Vice City and, I don't know... Play it?

Plenty of depth, especially in San Andreas.

There's some strategy involved, and when you take into account bullet penetration, some form of cover system would be nice. Doesn't even have to be something complex like Rainbow Six: Vegas, but something like MoH: Airborne's "leaning" cover system would've worked too.

Adding a cover system to GTA4 was an inspired choice. I'm gonna get some buddies together and we're gonna re-enact that huge, lovely shoot-out between cops and crooks from the movie Heat, using various cars as cover. :D

Eh, perhaps, but I genuinely have no idea what these games are supposed to be like. The closest I've ever come to playing one is reading a few reviews several years ago.

I know they involve stealing vehicles and interacting with prostitutes, and neither of those elements seems interesting enough to make me want to part with whatever they cost.

I asked why I should care because I'm curious as to whether there's some hidden level of depth that binds the entire experience together that so many hundreds of thousands of others seem to have found; if so, I'm oblivious to it, and it's possible that knowing the gist of what I'm missing might make me want to learn more.

Just the fact that they say there's a cover system excites me. In my opinion, every shooter on the console since Rainbow 6 Vegas and Gears of War needs to have a cover system. Makes it worlds better and makes up for the lack of percison as well as the ability to have an extra set of buttons set aside to "lean."

And you hold the left-trigger only half-way down to go into a free aiming mode. Both apparently work really well, according to various hands-on, and are huge improvements over previous GTAs.

In multiplayer, it's possible for the server host to disable lock-on, which is a great feature. I can see it getting really annoying when everyone can easily lock on to each other with the press of a button. Doesn't require much skill.

Unfortunately, although I already put money aside, I'm making myself wait until the end of the semester (Late May) before I buy it. I know I wouldn't have enough self control to avoid playing it when I should be studying for finals.

SO on April 29th, I will probably be reading a book, wishing I could be running through Liberty City stealing cars and other random acts of disobedience.

But come late May, I will be on this like white on rice and enter seclusion for the first week or so of summer break.

Truly. The single player and multiplayer both sound expansive enough to easily qualify as two separate games. I am actually quite hyped for this game right now.

Hopefully, the wife will leave me alone for a while tonight so I can play me some GTA: SA to get in the mood for it again. Though, it's not like it's going to help my skills, as it sounds like this is very much a shooter-like mechanic system, not the lock on targeting that was the original system.

Can't say I'm sad to see it go, though.

The retailers, needing to make sure they can still sell the game, will then point out that it has been rated 18+, and that they not be selling the game to people under that age.

They will then send a memo to all managers / staff, asking to check ID, meaning that when I try any buy it, they'll ask for ID, which I currently don't have, and so I'll need to get a friend / relative to buy it for me. :(

By that I mean if someone wants to buy Gears, why not buy a used copy for $30 ... and that money does not go to Microsoft or Epic, it just goes to the store where you bought it. both my controllers and my wireless headset will be fully charged so i wont have any probs with em (hated it when i first played bioshock and the controller went down like 20 minutes after starting.)

oh, and i will shut off the phone, shut down icq and maybe the qhole pc, so no one can stop me from shooting virtual dudes.

i just thought, maybe i invite my parents to a candlelight dinner just for them so i'm f-ing free of em and can turn the volume to 11 for some serious ak-47 bass attack.

oh and my 360 will so laugh at my ps3 cause the pee-ass 3 wont be gettin hot liberty city love (except when angry red lights whip my face and burn my eyes. seriously i already have ps3-gta4 money in my drawer just in case^^)

I didn't know that God of War II is on the Greatest Hits list already!

This got me thinking. A PS2 game has to sell at least 400,000 copies and be on the market for at least 9 months to become a GH title. The same goes for the Xbox's Platinum Hits.

Now, is it me ... or does Xbox wait for ever and a fucking day to release a PH version of a game, in comparison to Sony? Not wanting to start to fanboy war here ... just curious.

I'm betting that with the current cost of developing a game, a the distro that goes along with it ... it's gonna take a lot longer for us to get a HITS version of a PS3 or Xbox 360 game. Take a look at Gears of War, hell .. it should already be a Platinum Hit by now. Lost Planet: Colonies is going to be a "Platinum Hits" version of the original game but with tons of of stuff added. So why isn't Gears Platinum yet? My guess is that everyone is money hungry.

It's difficult to run away from someone in Bully and use the right stick to look around for somewhere viable to go, because the camera (for me) seems to always want it from the perspective of the protagonist when he's moving about. And I just end up all twisted and turned around, and get my ass kicked by whoever is chasing me.

Gets very annoying when running away from prefects, particularly indoors. I've downloaded the patch, too. It's annoying too because it's basically the only downside to a fantastic game. I haven't had framerate issues or lockups or anything else, as some others have. Just the camera.
