Dunno about Indy in LSW:CS, but if you have to collect all the gold bricks (and he's avialable in the DS version), I'm still short by the six Deflection/Evasion/Levitation bricks.

As for Boba Fett, they gimped him in LSW:CS. In LSW2 his flight mode didn't expire, which gave him a serious speed boost over walking (granted, you couldn't fly over pits, but you never really needed him for that). Furthermore, they took away the schweet rocketpack unlockable. Thermal detonators, but they'd home in on enemies.

Oh, you know there will be. Look at how many different Republic/Imperial troopers they slipped into the SW games. Figure you've got Nazi soldiers, Nazi officers, the wrench guy, Nazi pilots, Nazi motorcyclists, and whatever generic goons they can pull out of Temple of Doom. Going strictly by main heroes, I can think of only seven (Indy, Marcus, Marion, Sallah, Willie, Short Round, and Henry Sr.), plus you could probably throw in limited-appearance good guys like Jock, the Grail knight, and the guy with the cruciform tattoo. There aren't many more major villains either (and no, Hitler doesn't count as a major villain in the two Nazi-centric IJ films because it's only a non-speaking bit part). I'd be shocked if more than 30 of the playable characters were credited by name in the movies, and not by description (like the target-faced guy with the scimitar).

@dunetiger : the mekuri master:
There's the Club Obi-Wan in China, Jock's plane (registration OB-CPO, which could in fact be a legitimate number for a plane registered in Peru, where that part of the movie took place), two instances of heiroglyphs on various walls (I can locate the C-3PO glyph on a pillar in the Well of Souls, but the LEGO set includes a different one featuring both C-3PO and R2-D2 up high on a wall, and I believe there's supposed to be one in the Peruvian temple as well), Indy's bazooka scene is where Obi-Wan first appeared, in the submarine base one of the Nazis says "one, one, three, eight" in German (not technically a SW connection, but hey...), and during the opening of the ark you can see R2's head used as the shade on the light pole that Indy and Marion are tied to. Oh, and there's also the Lucas/Ford connections.

@Sabre_Justice: Okay, no more long name.: To unlock Indy in the Complete Saga I think you just have to watch the trailer for Indiana Jones and then purchase him at the store. At least that's how to do it in the PS3 version.

Anyhow, sixty playable characters. I'm both intrigued and a little worried. I didn't think there were that many characters worth noting in the Indiana Jones Trilogy, but I certainly hope I'm wrong and that we're not stuck with a lot of generic characters and/or tons of alternate costumes.

@dowingba: Funnily enough, that's not unlikely. I hear Indiana is unlockable in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. BTW, anyone know how I do that?

@Purple Dave: Nah, a few characters were useless. Nearly everybody has something to offer though. Besides, you get characters like Boba Fett who can shoot, grapple, throw thermal detonators AND fly.

Too bad you can't play as that bespectacled Nazi freak from Raiders of the Lost Ark. The one who gets his hand imprinted by that medallion after it burns him. Toht, I think.

I mean, if you can play as Mola Ram, the guy who rips hearts out living humans for fun.... He's great too, though. MOLA RAM, SHUCK DEE DAY.

Nostalgic. Probably can't rip anyone's heart out in Lego-land, though. :(

I just read this, too:

Create unique playable characters like Sallah Scott or Mola Round by mixing and matching the LEGO body parts of all playable characters.

See, it should've been possible to create a Mola Ram/Toht hybrid, but it isn't. Thanks, Lego.

"Mola Round" sounds like it'd be hilarious, though.

And holy Cow, Short Round?! That actor, known as Ke Huy Quan then, was my absolute HERO as a ten year old kid. Not only from the Indy flicks but from Goonies too. And I can play as him in a LEGO game? This is good news.

I'll have to admit that while playing Goonies 2 on NES I wished the character would have look like him, I always imagined it was anyway.

Well, if Short Round is in (like they'd skip him...), that means there's a slim chance that there will be Short Character hatches of some sort. Not a huge likelihood (I think he's the only short character in the entire trilogy, unless they let you play a monkey), but possible.

@male roof blower:
rassinfrassin. There WILL BE NAZIS. It's just that they, like every other historical military faction represented in official LEGO minifig form, will not have their traditional symbology present (pirates and their Jolly Roger notwithstanding). No British symbols on the redcoats, no French symbols on the bluecoats, no Union symbols on the Wild West soldiers, and no Japanese clan symbols on the samurai.

I'm sure there are, but expect to see multiple outfits for some of the main characters, like Marion and Belloq (heck, Indy might even get a few, like no jacket, full professor suit, or his Scottish disguise from Crusade...and one where he's not wearing his hat but it rolls around after him would be freaking hilarious).

@brianewing:
They fixed that "feature" for the most part in Complete Saga. Pretty much everyone who's not a droid has a gun, a lightsaber+force, or at least a melee attack (like the pig guards). Well, at least they did in the DS version.

I hope the playable characters are actually playable this time. Lego Star Wars had a lot of "playable" characters like Dexter Jettster that couldn't do anything but walk and jump. No attacks, no special powers -- no anything.

@Darthvinder: The monkey was overpowered. He had unusually high speed and endurance, and a tiny target zone.

Compared to the giant, slow cows with the same stats, but worse fire resistance, it wasn't much of a question.

Short Round constantly gets quoted in my house. I have no idea why, but he was given the absolute best lines in Temple of Doom. He makes the movie really darn fun to watch.
