We'll see how the werewolf thing turns out. It'll be nice to have Sonic and the werewolf, but I don't know if the werewolf will be as fun to play with as Sonic will be. They should make games more like Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. That game was close to perfect. You could play as the badguys, there was a chao garden, you could shoot guns, run around, or look for treasure, the levels were fun, the storyline was great, and there was no problem with that game at all. If this game can turn out to be anything like that game at all, it should be a success. It's nice that you can play as Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails in one story again, the levels and obstacles in daylight seem nice, and the storyline sounds pretty cool so far, so I'd say this game is going to be one of the better ones.

I remember hearing wonderful things about it being more old school, and Sonic being the only playable character, and hopes rising so high. And then it was universally reviled. Sega's obviously gonna *say* "Yup, back to old school!" but forgive me if I wait to see them back up their claims. Personally I find it most ominous that they hark back to Sonic Adventure as "that classic golden age that we've been trying to recapture". No offence, but the 3D games never reached the height of the original 2D. Still... I reserve a small corner of hope that they will put my doubts to rest.

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle could only be improved if they fixed how easy it was to freaking die. You could speed off the ledge of any level and plummet to your death. The difficulty level near the end was insane, as well.

Since when was online EVER a standard feature of ANY sonic game? What would you even use it for? And WHY for the love of god does everyone seem to think that any form of online "play" makes a game better?

Maybe it's just me that doesn't get it--sometimes online is just useless, like in the case of Trauma Center: New Blood. Yes, it's cool to gloat and be like "YAY, I AM THE GREATEST" but really, it's a feature that doesn't change the game, either way. I don't mind it, but I wouldn't miss it either.

So, my question is, what online capabilities would have been expected from this?

Also, wasn't Sonic the Hedgehog 360/PS3 a sequel to the adventure series of sorts? And Sonic and the Secret Rings had nothing to do with any of the other Sonic games, and it definitely wasn't one of the shit Sonic games.

In any case, it looks like the story will be totally original and have nothing to with any of the Sonic games, even though they say they relate it to the Sonic Adventure games. I think that's just them trying to relate it to the last highly praised Sonic games.
