That's not a big battery, this MadCatz battery is a big battery - it's so big you put the standard battery INSIDE it.

It's awkward to hold, unbalanced, and won't fit in the PSP's sleeve. And, despite the physical design allowing you to unplug the standard battery while the PSP is powered (it has its own battery too of course) the blasted thing doesn't work like that and powers down. D'oh!

Ugh, I just skipped ahead to see how big the battery was. I couldn't stand his mumblings. Oh well, if it lasts longer, that's what counts. Sony's Vaio "extra life" laptop batteries are like that too...sort of a monstrous growth from the laptop. But meh, if you were on a plane for hours at a time, you wouldn't be trying to look pretty and sleek...you just want it to last as long as possible.

Never buy 3rd party Lithium Ion batteries... you know, unless you dig flaming laptops, exploding phones, burning PDAs, etc...

They often circumvent or omit key safety features like proper onboard battery monitoring and shutdown circuits.

Trust me, things are just better, and probably even cheaper in the long run with first party batteries, memory cards, and controllers.

I can remember seeing this battery on a channel called MAX TV, the only thing that makes it slightly better is the extra 4GB storage on the other side.
And also, why do we really need bigger batteries? My PSP has a 1800mAh battery in and that is suffice for me, but I suppose people might want marathons and stuff.
I also had to get my PSP just to check the battery! It appears to have a lip on it so you can 'lever' it out which I thought made it super easy compared to fiddling around with those pesky AAAs on a GameBoy Pocket.

Yes. I legitimately loved the original XBox controllers, and legitimately disliked the S-pads, and continue on an epic journey of legitimately disliking wiimotes, which are too small and thin, psp controllers, which need bigger arm things on the bottom to grab, and *even* GBA SPs, which cause my claws to shrivel up into ... claws.

Only thing about original XBox controllers was that they would have lose parts bouncing around in them, and then they'd stop working... poor things. So better made bigger controllers would be ideal.

I have but one regret, and that is that I crush all the bunnies when I hug them :(

Hell, Just looking at the logo on that battery makes me afraid of the product. I learned my lesson about 3rd party accessories a long time ago. I don't trust any of them that directly effect my game systems. I'd say TV/Video cables would be about the only thing I would take a chance on with 3rd party products. Only because they're incapable of hurting your game system or you TV due to poor quality. A 3rd party battery is sure as hell not something I would trust plugging into my PSP.

If you do 5 seconds of research online, you can find a ton of reasons not to buy 3rd party PSP batteries. Cosmetic issues aside, there are often serious battery life complaints that people are logged.
