There's racing, co-op, team deathmatch (16 ppl, and can split into at least 4 teams, maybe more), and some other modes I can't recall.

Anyways they specifically cite that when you host the map, you pick which portion of the city (can limit to certain areas) and you pick the civilian density as well as other settings. I'm sure if you pick all of Liberty City, you can't use the highest NPC density, but if you pick a certain borough, you can fill it w/ civilians.

Two crews going at it...one in a car, the other in a helicopter. Car's ripping through the city as the helicopter's cutting through the streets in hot pursuit, gunfire and rocketfire being traded. Car's gotta rendezvous with another part of their crew at the docks for a faster getaway via boat. The chase has drawn the attention of the LCPD...even more hell breaks loose. For a brief moment, both teams work in tandem taking down the cops...car battle royale and aerial battles galore. Both vehicles are beat to snot, but the chase goes on. They make it to the docks. In a last ditch effort, the helicopter tries to cut the car off by hovering further along its path. Guns blazing, car's now on fire...the driver floors it. There's a ramp. The crew bails out of the car at the last moment before the car's launched airborne...the helicopter crew is caught off guard...the two collide and the pyrotechnics are epic as all players witness the epic conclusion of all the majesty that just took place...and all are absolutely blown away...

God damn, there better be a recording feature in this game...

Occasionally we would try and kill each other, but just messing around was much more fun. The thought of doing this in an up to date version of the world is awesome.

Besides, they said 15 different modes. If even one of them is "get to the docks and steal the bags full of whatever before the other group gets there and steals them", then you're guaranteed to get gun battles galore.
