See, i don't give a shit about his shit movies, but i give a huge pile of shit when you make a bad movie and expect it to end up as a critical success, especially when in the process, he tells staff that quit on him to do so-and-so exactly according to his tastes, and throw childish fits when things don't go his way.

It could be monetary, paying to see a movie that ended up sucking.

It could be time, I'm sure there are those out there who say "I can't believe I wasted BLANK minutes of my life watching BLANK".

It could also be tarnishment of a series. If someone really loved the story/character/world of say... Bloodrayne, House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, etc. and thought that he did a disservice to the beloved series by possibly ruining a potential good movie series OR just not putting out a good movie based on good games.

I'm just saying there's at least that many people who would be dissatisfied with the product that Mr. Boll puts out. As in all cases, not everyone researches movies and goes out to see it based on the franchise name. Sure, I can see where it's totally their fault. However, that doesn't change the fact that the viewer will most likely feel "screwed" if he/she puts out $10 for a movie that's not worth $10. If someone puts out movies that the general public thinks are stinkers - if that person ceases to do so, then the less likely average Joe will have to put up with a probable bad movie from said director.

If the source material is crap, you aren't going to be doing yourself any favors by making a movie of it. What does that really say about him? That he's a masochist? That he likes a challenge? Or is he simply delusional?

Don't try and defend him like he's some sort of struggling artist. Also, retire the tired line of "I'd like to see you do anything better (or achieve anything like he has)!" I never made claims of being a great movie director. I know I'd be terrible at it. He claims he is a great director, and 99% of his movie viewership disagrees. While claiming to be talented at something strays into the subjective, it usually comes down to public opinion as there is no other real way to quantify such a quality.

He was simply cranking out crappy movies, that have a brand recognition through games to generate revenue off of gamers through a crooked tax scheme. From what I hear, this loophole has been stopped. Perhaps this explains Postal sounding like his personal best effort.

Most game to movie conversions are TERRIBLE, with the exception of the tolerable Resident Evil films and maybe a couple others I haven't thought of.

Either way, sometimes I enjoy a shlocky campy film, and when there isn't Troma, Uwe's movies fit the bill quite nicely. So keep making movies Uwe!

So he gets to make more money than he should ever have in his life by destroying game franchise movie adaptations. What this really means is that sometime in the next few decades someone that DOESN'T suck is going to have to go back and remake all of his shit movies.

An awesome movie could be made from a game but it requires competent direction, scriptwriting and respect of the source material. I would love to see a God of War game for example - it could be an epic, but whether it got the proper treatment remains to be seen.

The issue is that most game to movie translations are terrible because they pick games where there is no plot whatsoever, or if there is a plot they just throw it out of the window. On top of that they hire the worst directors (usually ex-music video directors) and the worst script writers to hack the thing together. Consequently the movie is a turkey that neither fans nor the general public want to waste good money on. There have been some exceptions that have become profitable, but none of them particularly good.

As for Uwe Boll, he is a bad director who buys up game licences and deliberately pisses all over them to produce box office bomb tax write offs. The guy should be ignored at all costs.
