Highly diluted orange squash and rich tea biscuits/digestives has always been my favourite cure for nausea. Oh and of course, our favourite traditional Scottish remedy of porridge. Coats the stomach and stops everything mixing up and going horrible, plus it's high in soluble fibre and when made with semi-skim milk, healthy for baby and mum alike. That said, we don't usually have a nice IV where molecules of anti-sick can be added.
Funnily enough one of my lecturers wears no socks and just sandals too...maybe it's a doctor thing.
And remember, fortune favours the brave.

As the new father of one year old baby girls, these types of stories hit me pretty hard.

My wife had a very hard pregnancy and was sick all of the time, but the babies ended up as healthy as can be.

It's probably that new Bash in there giving her a hard time because he/she is so damn healthy!

Morning sickness is often the result of not getting ENOUGH food (protein rich food especially), as odd as that sounds. A woman's body needs at least 1.5 times as much protein and vitamins during pregnancy than normal. If she's not already, get her eating more, even if she doesn't feel like it. She should get up in the middle of the night and have a snack too. No junk though, healthy and non-soy protein rich is the key.

I'll keep your family in my thoughts. We are expecting (Sep 5th) and my wife has been sick on and off but not to the point of needing an IV. She sleeps so much now though. She is always exausted (although she is an accountant and tax season/long hours help none).

The sickness part of my wife being pregnant sometimes leaves me feeling like I should do more to help her when she is sick but I don't know what to do. I drove back to our home a few morning ago because I forgot my belt and my wife is standing outside of her vehicle dry-heaving over and over. Something about the smell of her car really does her wrong. (It smells new to me so I have no clue) I wanted to help but there was nothing I could do so I was in and out all while she was standing there outside the car getting sick. I asked if she needed anything but she said she was good and I didn't want to be late to work. Some people say it goes away and some people never get sick. So strange how it works.

Best of luck to the lot of you. In pregnancy, you learn the unexpected is normal. My wife had a few rough spots and it seems the 'hook-up to IV" is the first step in every case, so don't be worried about that.

Oh and the amulet, crush it for it is clearly a nix.

You're being proactive about everything and your doctor is familiar with her, so I believe it'll all turn out well! :) When things get stressful, remember that people care. It's a very small thing, but it can make a big difference!

Oh, and fish can usually last a day without killing you :)
