Anyway- she looks like the character designers took one physical attribute from one female character from each of Capcom's fighting game series and made one big wishes-she-was-a-furry anime meta-character.

And here's me thinking that Japanese game characters couldn't get more derivative and cliche. Thanks for proving me wrong, Namco. Thanks a bunch.

Could somebody explain to Namco that the ONE (OK- one of many) places we don't need overdone depth-of-field effects is in a fighting game? Do I get to spend the entire game enjoying blurry, out of focus backgrounds and action that looks like it's been filmed from a mile and a half away? Or are they just hoping that the mere promise of doing so is enough to get my money?

In Lost Odyssey it's distracting, and that game's turn based! Please tell me these are bullshots and that Namco hasn't really become that freakin' stupid...

@Captain Impulse: The SC series has a pretty distinct style. Sure it's 'realistic' in many ways (Ivy's massive mammories being one of the exceptions) but it still has a certain style to the way everyhting looks, just as Tekken and DOA have. And from what I understand Zipidingigilgawutalongnaem and Spiky-tits here ARE canon. Darth and Yoda, not so much and they are obvious as Gimmick characters, every knows them and if given they're proper 'canonical' abilities they would butcher every one in the Soul Calibur series. It's pretty safe to assume they won't be making any appearances in whatever story mode is present. There are simply little things in the way that they look that somehow, to someone familier with the series, they don't belong. I'm not saying they are bad character's just that the creator's and modelers could have done a better job of getting them to fit the overall look of the game.

Anyway (in order to be on topic) this new character really is kind of iffy. She, along with the Zelda wannabe introduced earlier, absolutely do not fit. Not as much as Darth and Yoda but still. I understand they are characters designed by outside artists but regardless they just don't fit.

They're like the 400-pound Gorilla at the dinner table which is still kind of offsetting even with it sitting across from another 400-pound Gorilla that happens to have a Glo-Stik.

But I'm seconding everyone else's distressful comments: Where's Talim already? Simply put: I will not play Soul Calibur 4 if it doesn't contain Talim.
