To be honest, if you only own a PS3 (which I do, as it is the only console that embraces imports at the moment - not voluntarily I guess, but anyways), you have somewhere between 70%-80% of the good games the XBox has - most third party developers don't do exclusives so it is not like you'd be running out of games.

The co-development seems to pick up pace and at least in Japan and Europe, the PS3 will top the XBox numbers some time this year, make the device more interesting for developers.

Not sure what you do, but I am playing Devil May Cry 4, Yakuza 3 (...damn I would like to understand the story sooooo much), Fifa 08 and Rock Band at the moment. Only one exclusive, but why should one bother about that? And the next exclusive is already coming these days btw (Sega's Valkyria game) .....

It might have been nice to have an XMB version, but the more I think about it, the more I prefer the segregated approach. Keep the XMB clean and simple and focused on what I have already... and keep advertising and new product in the store alone. The last thing I want my PS3 doing is trying to sell me Doritos every time I turn it on. One customer-paid advertising vehicle in my household is enough.

Of course, the real test will be in hands-on mode... but so far, looks like an improvement to me.

@shaselai: You could use L1/R1 in the old design for back/forward but it was still wonky because of the web page style loading. Hopefully the new version is more responsive.

Anyway, I like the design. I don't see any icons for movies or music so I assume that they will release that at a later time. Does anyone know?

Yes the new interface fpr the PS Store looks sweet but there is not much I want in it, I honestly wont be visiting it until the Warhawk expansion is released so looks may be nice but I just want to see more stuff in there to make me want to visit.

As for loyalties in systems I have none, I own all 3 and like them for different reasons...right now I am loving my PS3 more than anything else BUT, I want more out of it, more content, more games...

In the end I know I will be getting a ton of PS3 games on the last 2 quarters of this year, their line up FINALLY looks amazing and IMO the end of this year will be a very exciting time to own a PS3.

Anyway, this does look sleek and I do agree on the wasted left and right margins, such is typical of website aesthetic. Unfortunately, looking good doesn't always fix the problem of navigation. It's good to see the "back" is there, but if they lose the "forward" button, I'll be pissed. Sometimes I hit back too many times and I want to go forward. This also looks like the HD display. I do play on an SDTV and that means that a lot of this will be pushed to other "pages". It seems that they are using a modified version of their Internet Browser to launch the PS Store, and a two week upgrade hopefully means they change the system on which it's delivered. That would probably require a firmware update, too.

The Wii is asinine about locking virtual console games to that console and wont' do a swap even if you have the same credit card and info and have a receipt for your in store swap, so you have to go through there repair center if there are issues and you want to keep your virtual console games. Entering MarketPlace is a seamless process and navigation is conisitent with the rest of the dash. Tarting it up is all well and good Sony but for god's sake if you'd thought about this a bit more a few years ago then you could have made something competitive.

Though I *do* agree with nolifedopestar. It just looks like it had its links moved around a bit - not any more easily navigated at all, aside from more icons on the screen at one time. As long as there's still 5 second delays when going between the sub-categories, it will still be a terrible experience for new PS3 owners who have to trudge through the backlog of PSN releases. More so as time goes on and more downloads are released.

I picked up Rock Band recently (before they added the store to the RB menu) and had to navigate *back* to the Rock Band section every time I added something to the cart. 20 songs took me like a half hour to find and add.

Yes, Live says they're HD when some of them blatently aint in HD but they revise classics to have leaderboards, Online Play, Achievements and etc. which makes it kick ass.

Theres one thing I have noticed with the new design and its designed for the controller as the default navigation for the PLAYSTATION Store. Currently, it is a bitch to navigate around the PS Store because it has a mouse cursor which is clearly retarded but if you look carefully, it has navigation commands assigned to the O and X buttons which should confirm the primary controls for navigation will be for the SIXAXIS / DUALSHOCK 3.

Anywho, I am liking the design and its been rumored to be released on April 15th so I assume that there is going to be a Firmware Update for the Store as Firmware Updates are usually released on Tuesdays for the PS3. I am so happy its not just a new colour change or web based, it resembles the SingStore design and thats good news.

It's pretty elegant looking. I like it. Unlike XBOX Live Marketplace, there is a way to drill back down to the Store's frontpage. With XBOX Live Marketplace, you had to mash B just to go back to the front of the blade.

Pretty awful really, takes 10 minutes to find anything with its webpage slowness. Still, slick new design, with a nice categorising system. Love the adventure game guy, leaping over spikey death.
