I love all the details, right down to the paper 'streak' sinking down into the ground, just like in the movie. It seems they matched the cuts exactly. I edit footage for a living, and i put this edit up against any Bruckheimer action scene. (It's better, even...excessive speeding up/ slowing down of shots is SO tired...)

I saw Tron for the first time about a month ago. I didn't think it was any worse than most action flicks today, and it was certainly much better than any Disney flick I've seen in the last ten years. Sure, the vocabulary is a bit ... odd (campy, even). But seriously, it's not any different from the crap they say in modern movies. Seeing it made me realize how truly unoriginal The Matrix was.

I love that they got the shape of the blast hole correct and everything.

What's amazing about Tron is how little CGI is actually in it. Most of the film is done with back-lit animation and special process photography to create the color palette. There's only like 15-20 minutes of actual CG in the movie.

Pretty impressive.

SPECTACULAR!!!! AWESOME!!! AMAZING!!! I'm huge Tron geek so I absolutely loved this. Using the audio from the film was genius. There's just no replacing those classic sound effects.

I have the movie and this makes me want to break it out over the weekend and watch it over and over again.

Love the little "making-of" clips at the end.

What's even more awesome is that they got every turn in the maze right. I know, I've seen the movie a million times and this scene is quite possibly the best scene in the entire film.

If you haven't seen this movie do so immediately. No it hasn't aged that well but it's still one of the most innovative films in history as NO ONE had done anything even remotely close to this during the 80's. Even more risky was this was during a time when computer generated shots for films were basically non-existent so Disney was taking on a HUGE gamble that paid off.

Let's hope the eventual sequel won't turn into a steaming pile of cow dung like the Star Wars prequels.

The irony of this scene in tron being that in the tron game, the light trails don't disappear when a bike crashes... My school had the Tron Arcade game, it was awesome... We also had Pengo, Donkey Kong, Fireman (or something like that), and missile command.

@Polywhirl: While Tron, Flynn, and Ram were blue, signifying a "good" program, while the baddies were red, they gave the good guys differently colored bikes to help not only distinguish between the protagonists and the soon to be dead generic programs, but to also help tell the individual characters apart. Tron did win, and the actual main character Flynn was the one seen escaping out the destroyed wall, followed shortly by Tron and Ram.
