The Japanese Red/Green's sprites were... in a word... ugly.

The American Red/Blue used the sprites of the Japanese Blue, but the Pokémon locations and such of Red/Green.

As for why so many copies... Isn't it obvious? There were 151 Pokémon in the original games (from #001 Bulbasaur to #151 Mew).

That's pretty interesting. I think it's really weird/cool that the cartridges here in America at least look different (the cartridges themselves are the color of the game, ie the red cartridge is red and the blue cartridge is blue).

On a side note: yesterday I finally got Garchomp on Diamond. This meaning that I have had, in my possession at some point since I got Diamond, all 151 Pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex.

Why would you own more than 2 copies of a game? Once you have one to play and one to keep in a box, there isn't much reason to get any more, unless you somehow manage to buy out all the world's remaining copies and create a monopoly of Pokemon.

I wonder if they're authentic. I say that because I once bought a couple of GBA games on ebay and they were fake (the NINTONDO logo was what first alerted me). Got a refund and the seller banned, but I'm wary of any unboxed games.

This does make me want to play more of Pearl though, curse my inability to finish anyth..

I had the original three that came out in US. I beat all three, I traded with myself, and if I remember right I either caught everyone or I got really close.

Probably one of the reasons why I was never able to get into any other Pokeon until the DS one. Which is sad because I hear that G/S/C are the best. But whatever.

I don't know if this guys knows but more than half the people thats actually "play" pokemon just use the action replay to get whatever poke's they want.

Not that i play pokemon competitivly, and have the best friggin team and am willing to take on any one out there.

havent played diamond in a while. I want to, but... it would be like signing away all of my gaming time for the next month.

on topic - i am a bit slow this morning, but whats the point in having 151 cartridges? Thats like having 8 mario bros 1 carts cos it has 8 worlds. I fail to see the sellers motivation (even factoring in proper fandom, this still seems pointless)
