With all the ongoing attention to the issues with Bully360, I can't quite understand why it's entirely focused on Rockstar. There's another company name/logo that comes up every time you start the game, you know: MAD DOC SOFTWARE. Clearly, they were responsible for the port and therefore are probably way more deserving of everyone's derision and scorn than Rockstar.

Well, apart from whoever at Rockstar decided it'd be a good idea to hire Mad Doc Software. Putting aside whatever their track record might be, I can't imagine how somebody at Rockstar or anywhere else could watch their STUPID animated intro thingy with the idiotic "mad scientist" guy and their stupid logo with the stupid flask and say "oh, yes, I feel certain that this developer will have the good taste to do a faithful, flawless port of our fine game."

Speaking for myself, I will probably never buy another title that has the name Mad Doc Software associated with it in any way. But there's probably still an individual or two at Rockstar who should be made to fall on their swords over this mess.

while i thought that the patch fixed all the issues i cared about, the freezing mainly, last night, while playing the last mission of the game, i got 90% of it done and, when entering a building, the game froze.

yeah, 20 minutes of time getting there and it just up and froze.

i have really enjoyed my play through but it's going to be hard to start that mission again seeing that my experience tells me it may freeze sometime during the mission. argghhh.

One annoying bug was this: I got the Dual Nebulas achievement and that pushed my completion to 100%, but no 100% achievement. So I went, saved & quit to dashboard. Loaded up the game again and got the achievement. Saved again, then went and returned the rental (it was a day overdue).

The "support" is devolving. I'll try to condense everything here. My editorializing is in parentheses.

My initial question to them was on March 21 (Friday). It pretty much informed them of the post-patch problems and asked what R*/TT was planning to do to fix it.

3/22 From TT Support: The patch is working well for most people, delete all Bully data from the HDD and start over from the beginning. (Not a horrible suggestion, but I had already done that.)

3/22 From Me: I removed everything from the HDD before starting over. Freezing still occurs.

3/23 From TT Support: "I will look into this for you." (OK. We might be getting somewhere... except there was no response for almost two days.)

3/24 (late in the day) From Me: Checking up on the problem. Feel like I wasted $50 since I can't even return the game. I had the game pre-ordered and placed my faith that the game would work. Feel like TT/R* are betraying my trust.

3/25 From TT Support: "The Bully title update is now available via Xbox Live. If you have not done so already, connect your Xbox 360 to Xbox live and download the update when automatically prompted. Please note that the update does not require a paid for subscription to Xbox live, this update can be downloaded at no cost as part of the Silver membership." (Important to note that a new "support" person took over here and obviously didn't read anything.)

3/25 From (an irate) Me: I already have the title update. Please read everything that I have posted and updated to this question.

3/26 From TT Support: 8 Suggestions. Ranging from "make sure your 360 is plugged in" to switch the PAL settings on your TV. (By the way, I'm in the United States.)

They are either inept or just don't care and it's starting to piss me off. At least pre-patch, they were acknowledging a problem.

I wonder how "horrified" they are now. My guess: Not so much.

Two things are bothering me about this situation: The first is that Take Two Support has been inept in handling the post-patch problems. They are barely responding to my questions on the support site and, when they do, they aren't reading everything, giving me useless, inapplicable, canned answers.

What bothers me the most about this situation, though, is the reaction from other gamers. I've been called a liar and a whiner on other boards (I'm lookin' at you GameFAQs) when all I've done is post about my experience with the game. I have both asked for feedback from other users to find out if I was alone in my troubles and then suggested that we all contact R*/TT support when I found out I wasn't.

I just can't figure out why people that continue to experience problems with Bully: SE are being vilified for being legitimately frustrated. It's not like we can just return the game.

I am playing the "broken" version with the patch, it isnt bad. There is alot of load times, but they arent that long. They could never be THE WITCHER long, never. It is a lil buggy, but its a sandbox game, I forgive it.

So no reason to hate on the 360 version, though I am sure those class room sections are more fit for the WII.

After the patch, I've played about 18 more hours with no crashing, but now the music stutters sometimes.

Also, they need to fix Jimmy's animation when he sits down in a classroom. When he makes contact with the chair, he spins all the way around every time.

Don't get me wrong though, the oddities are definitely not a deal breaker by any means. But the patch didn't seem to fix 'em. In fact, I'm not really sure what the patch did exactly 'cause I don't see any difference. :P

Best part about Bully, by far, is the amazing soundtrack.
The music is fun, mischievous, and smooth all at the same time.

The worst part about Bully is the hundredth time I had to watch the kissing animation to gain health and maintain relationships. Funny at first, then they get longer as you get better at it.

So I waited for the patch.

After dling the patch, I've got over 10 hours into the game, and have had zero problems whatsoever.

I should also add that I got one of the newer hdmi pro packs when my 360 went splodey last October, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I'd heard that the glitches and locking up were affecting older 360's(even though it locked up on mine before the patch so take that as you will).

And Bully is a fantastic game. I played through it on the PS2, and I'd forgotten how engrossing and addicting the game was.

Glad I returned to it on the 360.

@Kirill83: You know, exceptions to the rule in a singular situation don't exactly prove anything. Of course there will be people with working launch 360's. Only 40-50% of 360's break. Just because something happens to you doesn't mean that that's how it is for everyone. It's a pretty narrow viewpoint to take.
