This has probebly already been responded to me but I had to add I couldn't let it go. This is Father-Time's PS3 complaint list.

#1 Price - Its $100 more expensive but it has double the compting power 360 has one billion FLOPS and the PS3 has two billion FLOPS meaning in the long run the extra $100 will be worth it.

#2 Confusing cheaper models (is the fucking thing backwords compatible or not) - both the 360 and PS3 has cheaper models at least the cheaper PS3 still has a HDD.

#3 No Guitar Hero - Don't know where this came from GHIII came out for the 360 and PS3 at the same time.

#4 Bad friends list support - No argument as I have yet to see the 360's friends list

#5 Home delayed for the umpteenth time - True, but it looks great and its free. Even some games you previously had to by in the PS Store will be added to Home for free. But I do agree the delay is non-the-less annoying but on the other hand 360 has no plans to even make something similiar except for acheivements but you still gotta pay for them and does seem as cool as having a trophy hall but i guess we will have to wait and see.

#6 Devil May Cry multiplatform - Who cares Deveil May Cry died after the first one. And even if it remained PS3 exclusive non of the game developers have yet even used the 360s processer to max. capacity much less the PS3's processor so it probebly would not have made the game better.

#7 MGS4 delayed still - It has not been delayed that much. The original release date was end of spring now its beginning of summer so maybe its roughly a few weeks late if that.

#8 NO RUMBLE! - Dualshock 3 although yes it was annoying that it did not have rumble before.

#9 Six-Axis is a nuisance sometimes (most times) - not Sony's fault. I'm assuming your refering to the motion thing right? its for the game developers to decided how they wish to use it the better they program and the better uses they come up with for the motion sensativity the better it will work. Other then the mothion thing the PS3 controller is more comfortable and had a better button layout at least in my opinion. The controller got an Emmy for controller design

#10 It's huge - true, however, it does not need to be bigger the 360 needs to be much, much bigger to solve its overheating problems.

#11 HDMI cable needed - Not true, I use the old red, green, blue, red, white HD wires for my HD screen and they work fine for everything from 576i to 1080p.

#12 LONG downlaod times - Not Sony's fault. You just need a faster internet connection my downloads are extremely fast.

#13 It gets hot - true, however, who cares how hot it gets what are doing rubbing up against your system when playing games? At least the thing doesn't melt like the 360. The 360 fail rate is steadly rising despite MS claims that the problem was fixed its fail rate used to be 33% but according to the Gamsradar vid that was on here the fail rate is now 40% compared to the 2% fail rate of the Wii and the 2% or 3%, I got differing rates between two different sites, fail rate of the PS3.

#14 Library of games is growing VERY slowly - Ya but they mostly good games like LittleBigPlanet, Resistance, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and MGS4. The only reason I plan on buying the 360 eventually is because of Ace Combat 6.

Really... if a person can't find any drawbacks with the platform of their choice, they're either delusional or overly gullible. There are no perfect products, and knowing the flaws is better than ignoring them or even defending them as "features" (here's looking at you Microsoft).

1) Live! Subscription fee. While not expensive, it's the pure thing of it. Having to pay to play online... and it's not like it's an MMO... because tehy have fees on top of it.

2) Loud. And with a loud external power brick.

3) Pretty worthless movie player. Some movies (Fidning Nemo being the prime example) looks like utter crap with heavy (and I mean HEAVY) banding in the blue water.

4) No rechargeable battery/charger in the pack.

5) You want a larger HD? That'll be $666.666 please. Well not quite, but man they overcharge the HDs.

6) Early adopters screwed on HDMI. I would have to buy a whole new console to get it. Good thing the Arcade is €199 now though.... but still too much.

7) MS Points for everything. They really try to make you pay for pictures, themes and every little thing they can think of.

8) I can connect my digital cameras to look at pictures from it... but I can't import them? Is there something wrong with my cameras?

9) RROD. While I got mine during Summer and MS was quick and helpful replacing it... so I never actually noticed it being gone... it happens to often for too many.

That website is dead now, but it is funny because people started citing the "statistics" without ever looking at the actual data. The same "study" said that only 13% of the Wii games were party games, but when I actually looked at the lists, I came up with over 20%. WarioWare was classified as an Action/Adventure game rather than a Party game.

In the end, these perceptions come from what is advertised, what you see on shelves, and what sells. The sales records don't lie; 360 owners primarily purchase shooters. There is nothing wrong with it, but there is no reason to deny it either.

Additionally, in general it has more titles of a higher quality in every genre over its competitors. Someone asked to name the PS3 rpgs, well, you have folklore which I dont even consider an rpg as its more action based than anything, not to mention extremely boring. Oblivion, which I already said was alright, not great though, and a horrible port of enchanted arms. Essentially, anyone who thinks the PS3 is stronger in rpgs than the 360 is delusional at best. That pretty much goes for every catagory aside from maybe platformer.(which the PS3 has the amazing and highly underrated ratchet and clank game)

Im not a fanboy of any console, own all 3, and enjoy all 3 in some way. However, a lot of the complaints I see in these posts are unfounded. Additionally, anyone who says BC is unimportant doesnt live in japan, where we dont have space to put multiple consoles. Even ones as small as the PS2. It was hugely important in my decision to buy a PS3, where as bluray was not important at all. The cost was irrelevant, I pick up consoles for even a single game I want.(as was the case back when the 3DO and neo geo game out in the early 90s)

Finally, for the record, Disgaea 3 is not all that great. It looks absolutely terrible(as were the first 3 Disgea games)and no doubt plays the same as all the others. I believe its out here, but not once have I even considered picking it up.(seriously looks like a PS1 game programmed by a bunch of college students.)

That being said, I do like seeing these videos. Thier fun to watch.

Anyhow, investing in a console is really not as expensive as people make it out to be. It's just stupid to invest in something that doesn't have anything worth buying yet.

Although i'd have to say dont be a fanboy, just get the console that has the games you like on it. I've gotten a wii for SSBB (although it's still a 2 month wait down under T_T ) and i'm planning on getting a ps3 for mgs4 and FFXIII. If only all three companies produced a joint product that has the innovation, features and games library of all three systems.

What do you mean with Mass Effect not being 2nd party, is it rather 3rd party? I would agree with that since now BioWare is owned by EA, but it wasn't owned by MS before and the game just published by MS.

Anyway, I can only welcome ME going multi-platform. But till then I have it on the PC I assume :P

[I disagree that Mass Effect is a second-party game since EA owns Bioware. Also, Mass Effect is on the PC, and there are rumours of the series going multi-platform. I would consider the game a AAA exclusive vs. a second-party title]

10. Decision to go DVD format / lack of HD-DVD built-in standard. Doomed early HD-DVD adopters and screwed them over for next-gen movies because they will fragment their userbase even further, and drastically.

6. No built-in wifi adapter ($99.00??).

I can't wait for the Sony and Nintendo bashing to come, this is fun. :)

I'm happy with my 360. They don't die as much as previously, the media sharing stuff is tops now they've got Xvid support and it's got a good majority of the games I want coming to it.

To be fair though, I'm probably spending more time on my PC and DS than on the white monolith at the moment.

@kingmanic: I haven't worked on PS2 emulation, no, but from what I could gather a 7800GTX paired with a 7SPE CPU clocked at 3.2GHZ (exceeding today's top end quad-cores) must suffice when done correctly.

Besides, Sony has always had the devkits and a working emulator to run on the more powerful hardware of a PC. The problems that public emulators have is simply that they're not getting the information they would need to potentially increase compatibility and performance, which only Sony possesses.

Oh, and N64/PS1 not bug-free? Haha. Good one. I've been playing those games emulated on a PC 2-3 years ago without the slightest issues. Dreamcast is a whole other thing.

I mostly play DS and PSP and the only current gen system I own is the Wii, but my next system will probably be a PS3 because of reliability (I also choose cars that way), price (Wifi built in and free online, which is good for someone who games in spurts), and game selection, but that is to a lesser degree right now. The only reason I would consider a 360 is because I am American, so most gamers have 360s, including my gaming buddies.

As a Wii owner since launch, I am definitely interested in seeing that video. Definitely the system of broken promises. I really want to see people rake Reggie over the coals at E3, but I think that people will continue fawning and making excuses for the crap that Nintendo pulls on us, the customers.

Things like "Too many testosterone-driven games" "Tough guy" "Generic hero(ines)" "Space Marines" etc... all seem to fall in the same heap even if they are splitting hairs.

Kinda amusing, but I think if they have to repeat that many to get 100 for the 360, the other two will have to get REALLY creative or repetetive. So they nail the 360 remote for using lots of batteries, will they nail Sixaxis for not letting you change batteries, then the Wiimote for needing to buy your own batts? Seems like a blatant attention getter to get more web traffic and forum activity. That said, I fell for it at least on Kotaku!

Well I happen to feel the exact opposite. I think this gen has produced some truly amazing games and experiences. I don't know what kind of games you're looking for, but I have been more than happy with what I've been playing so far this gen and I've been gaming pretty much everyday since I first got an NES back in 1988.

There's still absolutely no reason for there not to be the original PS2 hardware built-into PS3s. It wasn't stripped because of cost, and people are willing to pay top-dollar (I'm still debating it) for that hardware.

Halo is not overrated! Halo 2 over rated? Yes! Halo 3 over rated? Most defiantly! But Halo Combat Evolved for the original Xbox was by far one of the greatest FPS's of all time.

Also the Halo books were good, well some of them... So whats wrong with them being best sellers. At least halo has a background story interesting enough to read about (take that Mario!)

Also I think the size and weight of the original Xbox is kick ass. The 360 looks pretty good as well (especially the black one).

Also Halo clans are a cool thing, getting rid of them in Halo 3 was stupid. Clans in general are a good thing, especially StarCraft clans.

Last that video was stupid because a lot of there points were not valid, they were pointless like Xbox + cord = house fire? I think Laptop + On = House fire.

Vertical and Horizontal not ok? What does that mean? How do you position your computer or console. Usually its one the the two.

P.S. I love Mario but lets face it the background story is not genius, just the game play.

But that's a reason I hate ALL of the next gen systems. No god damned variety. The 360 is the least worst of them all.. but this gen is terrible, terrible terrible.

This gen.. unless you have some extreme invested interest in HD visuals, and multiplayer, lots of multiplayer, and not much else but multiplayer, this gen is an absolute failure. With so little to offer, and it's already past two years old. It's the worst generation since the Atari, IMO, and while there are still gems, and there certainly are still gems, it's still a failure. Last gen, we had a massive amount of variety simply on the PS2 alone, let alone the other systems, at this point.
How anyone can openly promote any of these systems so violently is beyond me. I mean, do you guys only play multiplayer, and only want 5-6 hour games to tide you over until you can get back to your multiplayer, or something?

Your not a programmer are you? Soft emulation is hard when you have tricky instruction sets like "anything after the Super Nintendo". Software emu of n64/dreamcast/ps1 games still have plenty of bugs. Having the full hardware API and it's behavior helps plenty but the 360 only has~50% of the xbox library emulated despite having access to the full hardware API. The cell can mostly emulate the emotion engine but the graphics chip is distinct enough that it would pose the same problem that MS had with the GPU manufacturer switch.

"Hard to read text on standard def" YES. I hate that you're expected to have a high def tv to play some games. You can't see things that you need to see which affects the gameplay. That's incredibly stupid design.

Scratched discs. Madden twice, now Halo 3. Friend of mine's MLB 2K8 randomly froze and became unreadable during an online game in the bottom of the 9th, I was up one run. Pisses me off.

Why I love 360:

Online. WELL worth the 60 bucks, especially when you compare it to the friend code system, *shudder*.

Games. Halo 3 is an above average multiplayer shooter. The trend these days is to dismiss it as "average" (mainly because yahtzee croshaw did it), but I have to strongly disagree when you look a t the online play. Throw in Oblivion, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Crackdown and Gears of War, and I can have a lot of fun with my 360.

Hating a console for perfectly good reasons is valid. But, hating a consoles for 95% of that video's complaints is what makes you a fanboy. Hating Xbox because it isnt well received in Japan? Who the fuck cares? It is Japan. It really only matters how well it does in America. But then there is the $200 controller they post. How is that a complaint? Have they even played the game? That $200 controller is essential! No way would that game have worked with a controller with the limited buttons. And not only that, Microsoft allowed that, but it wasnt their idea. It was Capcom who not only decided to make the game requiring a $200 controller, but also limiting the total number of controllers ever made. So, blaming Xbox for that makes you a fanboy.

The only legitimate reason to hate Xbox at this time is the RROD, their customer service, or if for some reason you dont find a game you like that they have. Which if that is the case, GL on any other console.

Except that's completely false.
The 80GB model was outselling the cheaper model, yet it was canceled, and people are still willing to pay more to get a PS3 with hardware-BC. This, to me, screams that Sony needs to still be selling this model as there's obviously demand for it; I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
And as far as "cutting costs" are concerned, Sony removed the nearly-perfectly working BC not because of the price of PS2 chips (seriously, PS2 hardware expensive? c'mon.), but because they wanted people to buy more PS3 games!!!
This is a ridiculous problem that will most likely prevent Sony from getting my money. I too will be giving it to someone on ebay instead.

360 backwards compatibility, on the other hand, has steadily grown - not replaced with a less efficient substitute then stripped away completely!

Now, don't take this as defending M$'s console in any way. Their business model (see micro-transactions, ad-riddled and not-personally-customizable dashboard, and seemingly incompetent hardware decisions) is horribly flawed. I only took issue with your defense of Sony's BC policy (which is by far my biggest issue I have with them) and stance on BC in general.
For the most part, I praise Sony's policies (having the ability to install Linux, upgrade one's HDD, free online service, UI-customization, etc.)

Also, I'm a PS3 enthusiast myself, but some of your statements are extremely subjective. And Vegas2 or DMC4 actually look identical on both systems on most accounts. Especially Vegas2 is said to have zero difference.

If anything, multi-platform games perform better on the 360. In rare, very rare cases, they look better on the PS3. Vegas1 by the way was way inferior on the PS3 to the 360 version, in almost every which way.

Like some people have said, the 360 had reached and now is past its prime. It was released a year earlier, so it makes sense, but it seems like the PS3 is the console to own now.

As for GTAIV, I pre-ordered the special edition for my PS3 a while ago. The GTA series was made for and it became known for what it is on the Playstation consoles, and playing a Grand Theft Auto game on my Dual Shock controller feels more natural. I'm not even sure if my 360 will be shipped back before the launch of GTAIV any way...

To undecided individuals:

If you prefer graphics, the Playstation 3 excels in a lot of multi-platform games, and the 360 excels in some, too. Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Devil May Cry 4, Burnout Paradise, and many other games have slightly to much better graphics on the PS3, and games like Assassin's Creed are better on the 360.

When it comes to controls, opinions are also split. The 360 controller is nice, and the triggers are well placed, but most of the other buttons are. The PS3 black Sixaxis controller is decent, but out of the three controllers I am about to finsih mentioning, the DualShock 3 controller blows them all away. The weight is perfect, you can get them in black or white, the controls are by far the tightest and most responsive I have ever seen on any video game console, and the rumble is amazing. Try buying some DualShock 3 controllers for your PS3, they're the best controllers you could find for a game console that actually counts (which excludes the Wii).

Then it comes down to some smaller things:

The 360 has a very loud, obnoxious fan, while the PS3's is much more quiet

The PS3 is heavier than the 360

The 360 supports up to 4 controllers, the PS3 supports up to 7

The PS3 has built in wireless, a memory card and SD card reader, 4 USB ports, HDMI, and an upgradable hard drive. You could stick with the 80, 60, or 40 Gigs, but I upgraded to 200, which is very easy if you can find any hard drive.

The 360 has XBL, which is very good, but actually costs money, which varies on the type of membership you have. The Playstation Network is alright, with most of the bare necessities, but it's absolutely free.

The Playstation 3 can play PS1 and PS2 games, as well as connect to the PSP in many ways. The 360, since it is made by Microsoft, can connect to a PC in various ways, too.

Most importantly, in my opinion, it comes down to exclusives. As an owner of a 360, PS3, Gamecube, PSP, and some older video game crap, I was disappointed by some games, but especially by the 360's. Out of the grossly hyped 360 games over the past years, the only ones I actually liked were Gears, and I somewhat liked Halo 3. Bioshock wasn't very good despite the reviews, imo, Halo 3... oh, Halo 3. For the most hyped, most highly overrated game in gaming history, Halo 3 sucked. It was an average game at best, and it did not deserve all the attention at all. Based on the hype, I was expecting a game from the heavens, and this one was a decent FPS.

I liked Dead Rising, although it was short, Mass Effect sucked horribly, and Lost Odyssey was kind of weird because I'm not much into japanese RPGs.

Then comes the Playstation 3 exclusives, which I believe are some of the greatest and most fun to play games based on my experience with the various consoles. Resistance was awesome, it was my first PS3 game, and the online community was amazing. I regret playing different games these days, but the 6 entire months I spent becoming a near expert and world-ranked Resistance player was the greatest gaming experience I have ever had.
Then came Motorstorm, a great game for racing fans, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, an amazing online game, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Flow, Everyday Shooter, Pixeljunk Monsters, Folklore, Eye of Judgment, Time Crisis 4, and Unreal Tournament III. All of these games are amazing, and if you don't have them yet, I recommend checking out at least a few.

The next part is probably the most important. If you don't like the PS3, you don't have to, but pretty soon you're going to regret not getting one if you don't have one already. The PS3 is getting Haze, Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigplanet, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Online, Gran Turismo 5, God of War III, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Jak and Daxter, Timesplitters, Socom, Afrika, Kingdom Hearts, Loco Roco, and Tekken 6. If this list doesn't make you want to get a PS3 and join the community, then you must already have a PS3 xD

Personally, I'd have to say I enjoy my PS3 more than my 360. In the long run its cheaper... and... very unfortunately, I can't enjoy my 360 right now because I'm wating for it to be shipped back. This has been my 4th RROD, and I'm really pissed at this point. With the PS3's .01% failure rate, and the 360's 15% (which dropped from about 30%) is still horrible. I played Gears for an entire month hoping my 360 wouldn't crap out, and it ruined the experience. Why does my 360 break, while my PS3, laptop, iPod, and TV run perfectly?

I still have one. My main TV (and wife's gaming TV) is a 36" standard Magnavox (oooh Neo Geo I love you!), and my gaming/sits-by-the-bed TV is a 19" Westy HDTV that I bought specifically for games. When TV is watched on it, it's hooked up through RF and looks like crap.

In all seriousness, my big beef with the X360 is that the games aren't there for me. I'd like to play Eternal Sonata but that's coming to the PS3. I really don't like FPS and haven't since about 2001.

Unfortunately JRPGs are hard to come by on current gen systems and it looks like they are bound to stay on PS2 or something. I can't wait for Tales of Symphonia 2 on the Wii but other than that I can't really find any others I want coming soon.

The original 40 GB and 60 GB has 95%+ BC. All the 80 Gb version, the EU versions and any version that isn't the 40 GB version has 80%+ BC. The 360 has 50% BC 2 years after launch. They still support it but so many people bitched about the price, cuts had to come from somewhere. 80% isn't bad.

I mean, Halo 3, Orange Box, Darkness, Bioshock, Rainbow Six 3 Vegas, RS3V2, GRAW 1 & 2, Call of Duty 2, 3, 4, FEAR, FEAR Files, Front Lines, Turok, Turning Point, Brothers in Arms, Perfect Dark Zero, Unreal Tour 3, Blacksite, Conflickt, Soldier of Fortune, Hour of Victory, Shadowrun, Battle for the Pacific, Call of Juarez, Nation Divided, Prey, Condemned, Condemned 2, Medal of Honor, Time Shift, Far Cry... etc

... I'm not even saying that's what I own or think are the must-haves, but almost any everyday gamer I come across will recommend a FPS to me. Rarely do I get any input on other genres. I'm a gamer that appreciates all types of games. (mostly games that are fun, not necessarily BIG or graphically amazing).

Which is why I play a lot of XBLA titles. They're just fun... no having to bother with some BS story in the games that don't need 'em. (though, stories are good in some games).

There are a LOT more FPS on the 360 than any other genre... unless you consider "retro" its own genre... which it ain't.

@TheEngineer: Rocking the Goggles: Just take a look at a list of FPS and TPS for the 360 and compare it to any other genre. Or just look at how many are actually out and how many are announced...

The stereotype is there for a reason. Unfortunately, this trend isn't just a problem for 360, but next-gen in general... and is now becoming the fore-front of "hardcore" gaming.

Really, Lost Odyssey is what the fanboys were looking for, and to be honest, it's a 10 year old game in new clothes. If you're looking for a "good" (by fanboy standards) RPG then you're looking for a JRPG, and these days, people would rather watch a movie than play one of those.

So sorry, but Sony and Nintendo aren't cornering the market on RPGs, they're just holding onto outdated game design to cater to nostalgic people who want to play the same game they played in 1997 over and over and over and over...
