I own the Orange Box on the 360, so this really doesn't affect me, but it is very disheartening to see multiplayer being to push out concerns over single player more and more. :(

Verdict, yeah it runs great just as i thought, better than doom 3 ever did.
1024x768, model detail medium, simple relfections, no AA, HDR full, textures medium, shadows high, trilinear filtering and shader high.
These were the recommended settings chosen by the game.
Not bad for such an old pc with only 512 mb of memory.
Remember this is a 7 year old pc with a 9800pro stuck in at a later date.

I didn't know if I was playing HL2 or Gradius 3. an embarrassing effort that should have never been let out the door. "yes, i missed the era of PS1 load times."

@nolifedopestar (PSN: noliferuin): Yeah, I can respect that point of view, but playing FPS games with a controller, no thanks. That, and the superior online stuff for TF2 makes opting for the PC version a no brainer imo.

Additionally, (something people often seem to overlook with PCs) you can get the whole sitting-on-a-sofa-playing-on-a-tv... experience with a PC. You just need a TV out cable, a bluetooth mouse & keyboard and a board to lay across you lap. I frequently do this. It's a bit more hassle to set up, but you only need to do it once.

Was gonna say that must be a seriously bad pc when i have a 7 or 8 year old kt 266 with a amd 2000xp cpu, 512mb ram and a radeon 9800pro that plays oblivion and doom quite nicely at low res,1024x768.
I dont consider it a gaming pc but it plays them games just fine.
Of course i never tried any of the half life games so i could be wrong but as the half life engine was quite easy on a pc spec wise i assume the will run ok.I seem to remember doom 3 being harder to run than half life 2.

I bought mine and could have returned it several times, but I'll still keep it. If they patch the bugs successfully it'll be even better but it's still a very good game. The framerate in TF2 can be very annoying though.
