The game rus well and has some cool features. One major thing is the first person perspective which makes headshots much easier. This is no port, it is a whole new game. The graphics look very good and everything is nice and crisp; the textures are about ps1 quality. The controls take some time to get used to though. If you have verizon and a phone that runs it well and you love MGS, download it now! I bought the monthly rate since I can't see myself playing it for more than a month and MGS games aren't known for their high replay value.

Hell, the only reason I even play cell phone games is that due to some weird technical glitch, I'm never charged for them. Considering most cell phone games are 6-7 bucks, in addition to being absolute trash, cell phones need to be considered irrelevant gaming platforms to developers. You have nothing to work with except a minuscule system architecture capable of very little, four directional buttons and one teeny button in the middle and if you're lucky, two soft keys. There is only one good cell phone game that has ever been made. It's called Tetris, and that's because Tetris has kicked ass on every single platform that is has ever existed on.

The other blow here is Verizon Wireless exclusivity, at least temporarily. First of all, AT&T is a bigger AND BETTER carrier. AT&T should have gotten it if this was an exclusivity deal. Second of all, if it wasn't an exclusivity deal, EVERYONE should have gotten it. Third of all, what is this subscription bullshit? I've never seen any MMORPG's on these phones. What are they doing thinking they can rip people off with some kind of subscription model?

Esp. in the US where most of us have larger hands, I cannot imagine trying to WASD (or rather it's cellphone equivalent) through a 3D game. I thought the N-Gage would teach companies that people don't want a cellphone based gaming system.

Oh well, it will only be a few years time when handheld platforms will take over. You can already use Skype to dial landlines if you have a wifi connection and a newer PSP model. Thrown in bluetooth for a headset and GSM support and there you go.

Everything else has been totally and utterly shitty. Orcs & Elves was *okay* but I got stuck partway through due to a bug and it's not worth replaying.

Cellphone gaming will always suck until the controls work better, or the games are designed to work with the limitations of the controls. Turn-based games would work okay.
