SingStar is great. I've shipped my PS3 to sooo many houses just for SingStar gatherings now. I should charge really, especially as my poor PS3 recently got its first scar in the process. I now have 85 songs, including the few crap ones that comes with it (Orson, Scossor Sisters, I am looking at YOU). However, I downloaded MC Hammer and regret it. The first time (and only time) I tried it in front of people, I felt so ashamed halfway through I had to stop. I've refused to do it since. Despite this, SO many people cry "WOW, MC HAMMER!" and want to have a go at it. Then cringe and die as they realise they don't know as much of it as they may have thought, and they realise how stupid they look. It's not even funny any more.

I really can't see Rock Band being as appealing when it is finally released in Europe, because the songs aren't as diverse, and the controllers are intimidating to non-gamers. And for those that say SingStar is "just karaoke", it's SO not. I hate Karaoke, but I love SingStar... Karaoke is for people who love the sound of their own voice (when pissed), and there's little point to it. But SingStar's advantage is that you can turn the mics right down, so it's more about points- the way games used to be... it's great.

The PS2 version though, interests me not. PS3 SingStar has so much more to offer... apart from the promised "hundreds of songs to download". For now anyway.

I think some people here are getting a little confused; Singstar has been out in PAL regions for years and years, we are up to about nearly the 15th iteration now, whereas US got it only recently I believe?

Singstar 90's was definitely one of the better ones released, so if you're a fan I suggest picking it up!

Singstar PS3 felt a bit lacking, though the interface was beautiful and fresh.

And MC Hammer sucks in Singstar, they include special "rap" sections which just don't...work? At all.

I'm holding off on buying any more singstar disks because I'd love not to have to change disks from song to song. Does anyone even have a clue on the US price for singstar for the ps3? Is it going to be $60 a disk?

Snarkiness aside it's actually one of the better SingStar PS2 compilations... it's nice to see a fair number of the good tracks from it cropping up in the SingStore so you don't have to buy the crap ones, and get to enjoy the sparkly PS3 visuals rather than the crusty PS2 nastiness.

i actually have every other installment of singstar with the exception of pop. they were actually some of the funnest games before rock band came along, but there's still some fun to be had with singstar these days. im not sure i'll be picking up 90s anytime soon, but maybe if i find a decently priced used copy i may change my mind.

As others have suggested, this has been out in the UK for months and months now. I knew Singstar was more popular over here but I didn't realise NA was missing out on this gem.

Do you guys have Singstar: Rock Ballads? That and 90's are my personal favourites - full of great songs for parties!

Singstar, smingstar. I bought that crap on PS2 and still regret the purchase. Why don't you post the thread about the 21 song DLC that dropped today for Karaoke Revolution instead. The game gets 21 songs added every other week (which is now up to 63) and I still haven't heard anything about it here.

But then again, Singstar is a Sony exclusive title which should explain it...
