get yourself some cycling shorts - you can find any number of fairly stylish MTB shorts with a chamois built in to cut down on the butt-hurt. But you've just got to build up the callouses and get used to it.

Also, that felt isn't really intended for 30 mile comfort, but as long as you're out riding, more power to you.

I live a bit south of Denver, though I've never ridden my bike up there. I used to ride on the High Line Canal a bunch when I was younger though, that was always fun...mostly on the Littleton/Cherry Hills part, not out to Saudi Aurora, we weren't THAT brave.

The Stilletto looks really stylish, too bad it had to be let go.

I went for a bike tour in Tasmania and after the first day it felt like what dropping the soap in prison must be like.

I too thought you meant motorcycle. The idea of riding a bicycle bores me. I'm hoping the weather warms up this week so I can go test drive my future Ducati 848. I'll probably wait to buy it till next year though when the black version finally comes out.

Well the only thing I can say is 'no one runs a marathon their first time out', start off with short trips and build up.

If it's something you enjoy or once enjoyed, you owe it to yourself to give it another shot :)

I think it was the seat because it was really narrow, you can imagine the rest. the new gel seat is much wider and flatter like those u find on a beachcruiser. Plus the pants lol. But im still afraid, lol, it hurt so damn bad.

Not that this is your problem, but I've read that often when you're hurting from a long ride, it's because you're just not used to the seat, or whatever, and getting a nice cushy one won't necessarily fix the problem as effectively as just more time on the bike.

I'm going to test this out first-hand this spring - my new (to me) cx bike has a pretty unforgiving-looking seat... :)

Seriously, i have a Gary Fisher Bitter (basically a trek with no labels) went freeriding in the canyons behind my home, and i felt I seriously couldn't walk for almost 2 days the pain was so bad. That bike sits in my garage mocking me for not being man enough to ride it since then (almost a year). To show the bike I still liked it, I bought a new gel seat to appease it, and even bought those awesome oakley shorts which have a crouch and ass pad. But I still haven't ridden it since then. To think I spent $800 on the bike and only rode it once becuase I'm so out of shape and can't afford to be ass-paralyzed again lol.

When you said 'bike' I thought you meant motorcycle, and my dreams of your flowing locks streaming behind you as you disappear into the sunset were crushed when I clicked the link and realized it was a bicycle.

The soreness you feel after a 30 mile bike ride is called regret. There are some things man was not meant to do.

No, seriously, I envy you. I'm pretty much winded after 30 miles of driving. I thought about getting into shape, but then I remembered that 'pear' is a shape.

Hmm...We're kind of bike nuts here in my family, too.
Probably even more so.
We've got a Cannondale 613, a Trek Mountain Bike, a Kestrel, another Cannondale(but not a 613), another Trek, but in red, and a blue Palisade for my mum.
And there's only four people in my family.

The 613 is an epic bike. It's incredible. Sadly, I rarely get to ride it.

So you have 3 working bikes and I have none. (I have a garbage picked bike, but it needs new tires. Previous owner was paralyzed after falling out of a tree so it makes me kinda sad to use it anyway)
