<p>First of all, surely you did not miss <i>why</i> I said "JS is even better than Java." I said that in the context of whether it's a standard. Java is a brand owned by sun. JavaScript (actually called ECMA Script) is not owned by anyone, it's an official standard. From the standpoint of whether they can be considered standards, JS is better than Java, because it's more of a standard. Obviously, I'm not saying that JS is the better programming language than Java, or anything like that. I'm sure you understood that, so I don't quite understand why you're trying to argue this point with me.</p>
<p>Seriously, I suggest you read what I wrote again. I'm a bit at a loss for words here.</p>
<p>Second, please look up how Java works. Your question about who owns Java would be a fair one, would it not be asked in a post full of profanities. I'm going to explain this to you anyway, though:</p>
<p>- Sun owns the word "Java". They can say whether something can be called "Java."<br>
- Sun does <i>not</i> own the Java implementation. The Java implementation is released under the GNU General Public License. It's open source, nobody owns it; anyone can take it and fork it, or write their own version (and many do, there are other open source versions, Apple has its own version, IBM has its own version)<br>
- Sun manages the specifications, but they don't own them; everyone is free to create their own version of Java with extensions to the Spec, as long as they don't call it Java; and if they adhere to the Spec, they may call it Java</p>
<p>Also, you're seriously misguided when you suggest that <i>"You still need to license it from them to distribute apps you program with it commercially."</i> This is just blatantly false; I find it amusing that you claim I <i>"pretend to be a coder"</i> while at the same time claiming so obviously false and absurd things. It just so happens that I write Java and JS code for a living, so I would probably know if I had to license anything from Sun in order to be able to do so. In reality, you do <b>not</b> need to license Java from Sun or from anyone at all. Java is a free, open source standard, and you can do with it whatever the hell you want.</p>
<p>Which is precisely what differentiates it from Flash. You've still not explained to me why in the world you think Flash is a standard. I suggest that, instead of insulting me, you try actually making your point. So far you're just repeating your inane claim over and over again without showing any kind of evidence. <p>Hate on it all you want, but the interface is awesome.  It is unbelievably intuitive and after having one for less than a month, I don't know how I lived without one. Why buy an iPhone when all it does is make phone calls and play games that don't live up to even GBA standards. Its organizer features are deeply inferior to other, cheaper mobiles as well. I have to quote Ballmer here who once said something like "Apple threw the most expensive phone ever on the market and it doesn't do anything different".</p>
<p>Pointless. I can listen to music &amp; take photos with my (by now dated) K800i. That must have come out like 1-2 years ago. 		    <description><![CDATA[<p>my only gripe with accelerometer based games on the iPhone is that the orientation to which you are now forced to hold the damn device. Sore necks to surely follow as you can't hold the damn thing at a tilt without causing an accelerometer message. Thus to keep it 'steady', you'll be hunched over this thing, looking straight down over it. Thanks, but no thanks. Just gimme some traditional inputs not some overly exagerrated input. i would rather push a button than have to tilt the damn things all different directions and altering my view of the screen etc. I wish they would stop putting games on devices for the sake of whoring out the tilt functionality. Why not focus on replicating input that matches traditional inputs via a touchscreen.. ya know, a touchscreen implementation of dual analog and tweaking sensitivity based on accelerations for actions to be more discerning.</p>

<p>The Acelerometer is a 3 axis one like any other, so it can be incorporated in many things. How complex the graphics can be. I still don't know, but i wouldn't think is gonna be a psp competitor.</p>
<p>I also don't think the iphone/touch are gonna be competing with the DS or PSP. But rather have not such sucky mobile games on it (compared to cell phones).</p> <p>Falsoman</p>]]></description>

I know the iPhone has some motion sensing -- like for when you're looking at photos and hold it portrait or landscape.
