I have 1000/1000 on on four of my games but for me Mass Effect was by far the most time consuming. It wasn't really that hard but it took around seven play-throughs and 110 hours to get every last achievement.

As much as I love these achievements, I still HATE ones that require online play, since you basically get screwed over if its a game that hardly anyone plays online.

Or if you are a person who does not want to waste time online trying to do the inane things it asks.

The thing that pisses me off about COD4s achievements is that for some reason, especially on the last few levels the checkpoint system is so fucking sporadic i want to break the game disk in half and kick every single one of those developers in the face.

Seriously, in the mission where you only have so many minutes to defuse the bomb (third to last i believe), i was stuck on that level for a month because of lack of checkpoint. I'd get downstairs and go down the hall way that was like 3 other smaller hallways on each side and then die in the area with the missle silos. I was OH so close to breaking my control and trading my game in to teach that bitch a lesson. Thank god for multiplayer

I have 1000 out of 1000 a handful of games (spend 4 hours with King Kong and they hand you all 1000 points). But I am at something like 700 or 800 out of 1000 on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. And I didn't even earn those as a way to whore achievements (unlike Kong, they make you work for some of those points). I honestly love that game and can't figure out why it didn't receive more acclaim. It was a better adaptation of the book than the movie was and quite a feat to bring Hogwart's and surrounding areas to life and at scale in the way that they did.

@y2julio: The LIVE camera also makes an excellent webcam. The Rainbow Six facemaking tool is very good, much better than the bullshit Tiger Woods '08 one. The ugly mug that I created in TW '08 looks nothing like my ugly mug. The funny thing is that they have a photograph of someone on the back of the box and then a picture of his in-game face and they are identical. Fat fucking chance of that.

The Fight night "last fight" achievement is glitched I think.

I remember having to start a career over again to get it. I don't think you can lose a fight near the end, or something like that. Otherwise, you never quite "make it".

@duckmouth: Didn't that piss you off the first time it told you "Real Veterans go for headshots"? Then started you all over instead of at the checkpoint you normally get? I almost threw my controller at the screen at that point. But you're right, that one really does feel like an accomplishment, even though it's sadistically hard.

The achievements actually seem almost identical to the first game's achievements. I still have to beat that though so I have about 2 weeks for that...

I've gotten all the achievements in Avatar (just had to see it for myself), TMNT (actually was pretty fun), Oblivion (easily too), Call of Duty 2, King Kong (that game was terrible...), and Enchanted Arms (awesome game). Pretty close in Assassin's Creed, Tenchu Z (just gotta replay the game on a higher difficulty), would have gotten them all in Gears if my internet didn't die on me for 3 months, Viva Pinata (I can get 'em once I get back to that game), Spider-man 3 (those last ones were a pain in the ass), Fuzion Frenzy 2 (not a single person was playing multiplayer online...), and probably could've gotten all of them in Lego Star Wars 2 if the rental didn't run out.

@baked ham: I know what you mean, but I had to get this for completion's sake more than 20 points. Took me an hour and a half. I actually got to the end within ten minutes, but didn't headshot the final terrorist, and so got the message 'Real Veterans go for headshots' or something similar. When I did finally complete it I had 7 seconds to spare! One of the few achievements that really felt like an achievement to accomplish.

@Len Bias Cocaine Surplus: Dead Rising's achievements are difficult but they're fair. You have to be really good at the game and know the mall and events like the back of your hand, but they're all doable.

Rumble Roses XX is just ridiculous. It could be literally 20 hours before you got at least 1 achievement, maybe more.

I've gotten 1000/1000 on a few games :DW5:Empires, Jericho,Halo 3, TMNT, Samurai Warriors2:Empires. I think there are some more, but I can't remember. My proudest near completion game though is DEad Rising. I have 960/1000, and as anyone can attest, you fought for those damn achievements. That's actually the game that got me into getting achievements. Of course if I hate a game, I barely get any achievements for it.

Anyone who has 1000/1000 for Earth Defense Force:2017 is a hardcore gamer. I rented it thinking it would be an easy 1000/1000 as there are only 6 achievements. Big mistake. I bought the game because it was fun as hell(another win for achievements, as I might not have played the game otherwise), but the achievements are very hard.

I'm 1 achievement from getting everything in Oblivion, because there are two in the Shivering Isles expansion that are an either/or situation, and I haven't gotten around to playing through that again. I'm at 98% completion for LEGO Star Wars 2, and I have almost all the achievements for that. I only have a few multiplayer achievements left to get for Halo 3 but some of those are bloody impossible. And I've finished Beautiful Katamari.

Other than that, I don't know. I don't pay much attention to achievements unless I notice I'm getting a lot for a particular game.

@Meldy: I've put probably 30, maybe 40 hours, in to Rock Band, and I only have 20 points. I play on expert, and I'm on the last set of songs and can't beat some of them cuz I don't practice enough, I go a long time between each time I play the game so my skills never improve. I'm too lazy and it's a little too easy to go through and beat the game on the easier difficulties, so I don't bother, so unless I go back and do that, I'll have almost no achievements for a long time. If I ever beat these last 3 songs then I'll unlock like 200 points or something, cuz I'll get points for beating it on easy, medium, hard, and expert all at once.

@Meldy: That is nothing, NOTHING compared to the achievement structure in Rumble Roses XX. Laugh if you will, but that game has the most sadistic requirements for earning achievements in any 360 game to date. It doesn't help that the method of unlocking the alter-ego characters and earning championship belts is unnecessarily complicated and random, but the fact that the all "costumes achievement" requires you to buy every costume for every character, including all 50 (FIFTY) create-a-characters, is ridiculous.

Barring the sports games with nigh-impossible "#1 in the world on XBL" achievements, I dare anyone to name one game with 1000 achievement points that are even more painful to earn.

I'm close in Fight Night: Round 3, but not sure if I'm ever going to get that last achievement now.

The only game I have every achievement for is NBA 2K6, but I don't count that because, while I could have easily gotten them on my own, there's a random glitch that makes some of your stats a decimal point off, so when you get one rebound, the game says you have 10. Scoring is normal, however, so there were't any 1000 point games haha.

The only reason I haven't gotten the last two achievements in Ninety-Nine Nights (S-rank all stages & max out all characters' levels) is because I haven't played the game since last June. I should get back to it one of these days. I really like that game.

Also, I'm three achievements short of getting all fifteen in Dynasty Warriors Gundam, and I've collected half of the achievements in Bladestorm in just eight hours of play. Hell, the game even gives you three achievements the very first time you save the game. That's 150 points right there.

And in saying that, I can feel a light breeze as the achievement whores lift their skirts in excitement.
