you can buy compatible DS3's (thats-dualshock 3's) from them too. I have one in white, and i'm from the UK.

xbox360 can no longer compete with the ps3 on any level, the only game they have to look forward to this year is GOW2, which should be bettered by resistance 2 anyway. Ps3 has haze,GT5,MGS4 all coming soon.

As a Hi-Def movie player, need I say more, no contest.

It has free network access and a full internet browser.

Xbot fans might bang on about digital media downloads being the future, But did you know, the 360 only supports a "megabit network", while guess what supports a "gigabit network" able to cope with future broadband speeds, yep its the ps3. So to get your HD moviesb(i.e 1080p, etc) start saving for a Xbox360 super elite (probally in gold :)) circa 2010.

Sony have one basic policy for europe. Milk them. Why do you think our consoles were stripped down first? So they could have us pay more. Why do you think we had our launch after? Either they didn't care or they were trying to build up a big stock so when it sold they could say they sold more than the 360 at launch (to milk publicity from us). Why were we never given the Emotion engine, to milk us. Europe is not treat fairly by Sony at all.

I'm hoping this news though either means we're not getting a bundle at all or it'll be announced closer to the date, otherwise there's a chance we're not getting it because we're not getting MGS4 in June. I don't know how SCEE can be so stupid - Europe is their most successful region but they can't even get a DS3 released here (which hardly needs localising) or a bundle that'd guarantee millions more PS3s sold, they just make no sense at all.

@Kyle81: Actually, Europe never had 80 GB model, but the 60 GB model has memory card + partial (simulated) BC. (And also 4 USB ports, unlike 2 USB ports on the 40 GB model).

Hopefully, we will get a 300 GB model in Europe soon. Or 80 GB is enough I guess, for the casual user.

The funniest part is the Ps3 keeps getting worse.

Isn't it regression to remove components from hardware and make them less compatible. Missing Memory card slots, Blu Tooth, Ps2 compatibility ,Rumble. The list goes on and on. Sony is terrible. They spend more money making cheap Blu Ray players then games. I only own Namco games on Ps3.

Thank god for my Launch Japanese 60GB Ps3 though. Gotta love the excellent Japanese Ps2 library strong with Fighters and 2d Shooters.

I also find it to be on the verge of contempt in my opinion that they don't arse themselves to give us(Europeans) a chance at getting the same value as players in Japan and America.

In my opinion Microsoft has a bit more respect for Europe currently, and that Sony is close to the edge that Nintendo was on when bringing their stuff to our shores. Which is sad since Sony earned their brand image in Europe by not acting like Nintendo(they at least thought of us as a real market during the PSX era). If it were not for region free games I might have thought they had some gripe against us.

Saying that this screws Europe over and that somehow Sony are racist jerks seems a bit off base.

Other than the Spiderman 3 bit, both bundles seem okay, but if you dont like them you can wait the remaining months for the MGS4 one.

Now if we were getting MGS4 next month with a DS4, or it was announced that Europe wasn't getting that one, an uprising would be warranted. But neither is happening and since these are 40 gig bundles it makes NFS to say that they preclude the MGS4 bundle appearance (which is an 80 gig).

I can really fault Sony the least for their treatment towards Europe this gen, things like no region lockout means almost instant distribution worldwide.

No more waiting for Koei to bring persona is a good thing, isn't it?

Will do. I heard good things about Super Stardust... and from what youtube is showing me, its right up my alley indeed (good call!). Games like Rez, Geo Wars and Everyday Shooter I'm totally in love with. Pretty strange that out of this most recent generation of consoles, I'm happiest with shit that could have been on a 486 chip PC almost two decades ago.

The Americans and Japanese get bundles with games, dualshock 3 and backwards compatibility. Europe gets bundles with demos and no backwards compatibility or dual shock 3.

No mention of MGS4 means a European delay is now certain. Also no mention of dualshock 3 means it's uncertain if it will even be available in Europe in 2008.

I'd say that even the first part is not alright. The Euro is currently worth a dollar and a half, which means those rumble free boxes will cost approximately $600. It doesn't get any better that Sony Sweden uses a really wonky conversion rate and increase the price by an additional 20% in Sweden (probably partly to make up for our VAT that is up to 5-7% higher than other countries in Europe), at least at the current base model. The 40GB model currently cost $725 here and that is most definitely not alright.

As much as I love LittleBigPlanet I have to agree with you. IT COULD end up being the best thing PS3 has going for it, or it could be the largest flop ever. I personally are hoping that it does live up to the hype but I also reserve my judgment until I get to be hands on with it. It's still a first day buy for me but yeah I agree with what you are saying.

Pixeljunk you say? I loved Everyday Shooter, it actually forced me to go out and start finding friends with PS3's to be able to play it. Maybe I can convince one into paying for it. Its like, an artistic game version of growing plants right (Not trying to oversimplify it or anything, the art in it looks beautiful).

I think LittleBigPlanet is going to be one of the biggest things to hit planet earth in years, but I'll reserve judgement on it being a 'awesome!' point of the PS3 until it comes out.

But I agree with you on the indie hits, its why Im very happy with the no file size restriction of the PSN. Bionic Commando remake will get played the way it was meant to be played, in full unadulterated unfiltered pure HD above 150meg file limit madness.

The 80 is pretty decent, for exactly the reason you said. The media card reader. I forgot about that. Definately a plus in the PS3's books.

@steliosco: And you don't have frantically scramble to figure out if that new 360 console has the 'godlike' chip that could prevent yours from Red-Ringing. I like my 360, but I actually play decent games (i.e., Arcade titles, FFXI, and some Dead Rising with a little Mass Effect)

I'm still hoping that there is going to be a euro MGS4 release and if you look back through history on the PS2 there were MGS bundles in europe so I'd imagine it would be the same again.

As a side note the movie pack might be better labelled the "Action movie pack". Does it also mean that anyone underthe age of 15 will nto be able to buy the movie pack what with it being shipped with 300 and all?

Yknow, everyone who slapped down that guys comment up till this point was pretty smart about it, right up till you.

- Xbox Live is worth the 5 bucks a month. Thats three damn cups of coffee for a stable (well, at least more so than its other two competors), easy way of hopping into multiplayer matches in less than two minutes of turning the console on.

- You don't have to pay for demos as fast as others, but 360 still tends to get its demo's before you do

- The PS network is terrible compared to the XBLA. Not to say that the PSN is terrible, just terrible in comparison.

- You dont have to buy recharge stations or batteries. The PS controller doesn't vibrate. And costs more than the 360 controller. A 360 controller w/ a play and charge kit is about the same price as a PS controller, and I'd take rumble over wonkey sixxaxis control anyday.

- You did hit the head upon the nail though with the faulty thing. The 360 is terribly unreliable and the PS3 is a tank. Score one for you.

- I'm not even going to get into the games argument with you. The 360 has a WAY better library than the PS3 currently. Thats it. Thats all that has to be said about it. Except that multiplat games also seem to run better on the 360, because the dev teams doing the ports for the PS3 seem to be retarded.

- 'm$', as you so lovingly call them, have such terrible customer service that they release a rumble controller and then dont put it in any of the system boxes so you're forced to throw out the one they give you and buy a replacement. Oh wait, thats not microsoft...

- The PS3, way more reliable than the 360

- The PS3, much better media hub than the 360

- The PS3, Blu Ray player

- The PS3, more powerful (even if they currently have retarded dev teams not using this power)

- The PS3, hard drive swapping is really fucking awesome

- The PS3, finally has a few exclusives (besides resistance) that are pretty dope, like Uncharted and UT III (for the moment, at least)

- The PS3, Folding@home

- The PS3 and its PSP connectivity

- The PSN and its lack of file size restrictions on games that the XBLA has, as well as some sick ass Playstation titles you can play on your PSP

- The PSN and paying for things in dollars instead of mickey mouse points

Vibration is essential to me for racing games, I dont care what your arguments are. It lets me know when Im even slightly off track with that faint little rumble that becomes a bigger rumble as my wheels start hitting grass.
