I'd also like a nicer interface such as store front application that actually resided on the PS3 and received store updates every so often in the background(optional), so it flowed more consistently instead of feeling like a clumsy webpage constantly having to redraw itself.

Really, I could see it happening, what with all this other stuff happening all at once. Hell, even Haze is looking imminent.

Well, I'm sure that opinions my vary, but I would think overall most people would have less clicking and waiting than they do with the current method. Memory with the store browsing is a non-issue, as most of it is XML pulled down anyways, and much of the 'expensive' data like pictures could be cached to the harddrive. So I disagree it would be counter productive, as it streamlines the whole process, unifies their navigation method, and makes the whole process simplier. Otherwise, from a user perspective, you're having to learn two seperate inferfaces, in addition to the lack of access to the XMB from the store.

However, I actually prefer the separate interface for the store. The 360's 'streamlined' interface is nice, but is very limited in what you can do with it.

I'll take my XMB anyday with all the cool themes and backgrounds. More intuitive for my overall needs.

That said, they do need better find/sort functions (for example addons are only recent ones, you have to go to A-Z to find addons for say Ninja Gaiden Sigma). All in all, I'd rather they work on getting more demos, PS1 games up faster, but that's probably a different team, so its all good. I hope its more than just a paint job though, and they focus grouped their new UI.

Thought it was fairly easy to navigate, but if its made any easier, than I can't complain. Right now though...I'm seriously feeling exhausted. Second'd. Really, the PS Store, while a nice addition to the PS3, is probably one of its worst utilized features. It's just not arranged well at all, and sometimes it can be really hard to find stuff that isn't a "featured item" anymore.

Hopefully this streamlines the shopping experience a bit for us all.
