I rather like the idea of standard Lego men interacting in a lush, detailed environment. It looks great; I don't see what there is to object to in these drawings.

Do you expect them to make entire landscapes out of lego blocks? Lego has never been about environments, that was part of its appeal: you could construct an Imperial walker and have it exist perfectly well in the context of your room, without needing a giant Endor playset for it to be enjoyable. The rest could be filled in with your imagination, which is exactly what this concept artist has done here.

@lonkley: Not all lego pieces were blocky. For the larger stuff like buildings, they'd often give you a one-piece model that was rounded, etc. It's the details like the gateway up there that're the lego bits you actually construct.
