		    <description><![CDATA[<P>These impressions seem to contradict everthing I've heard from most all other sites regarding the game. I can't tell if Mike is just being super smug, being incrdibly anal, or just isn't impressed. Its obvious that he has no interest in the game.</P>
<P>Having looked into the game extensively, and after seeing all the recently released video, I have a hard time seeing eye to eye with some of the points in these impressions.</P>
<P>Especially, oddly overly nit-picking thigs such as the zoom in on Heimdal's glasses. Its actually a really cool part. It speaks to part of his character, since he is the see-er, his glasses constantly stream runes similar to a screeni n the matrix.</P>
<P>I haven't witnessed any moments of gameplay slowdown, and any frame issues in cinematics seemed minor at most. Most of them looked incredible too.</P>
<P>As a final note, IGN mentioned that the controls were actually tighter than when they previously played, while most other sites enjoyed the game.</P>
<P>Not saying mike is wrong, but its clear he either needs more time with the game to form an educated opinion, or its clearly not his type of game, and perhaps unable to form an objective opinion about it.</P>

		    <description><![CDATA[<p>It sounds to me like McWheretor wasn't too excited about the game from the get go.</p>
<p>He seems to be criticizing the game for trying to do too many things at once, which to me is one of the most exciting elements of what SK is attempting.</p>
<p>I don't expect the game's Devil May Cry gameplay to be <i>as good</i> as it is in DMC. That's about all DMC games are trying to do, so it really needs to be spectacular. This is an action-rpg that borrows elements from other genres, and honestly if I get an arpg with a little of that <i>flavor</i> of combat, that's all I really need. Frankly that's all I want.</p>
<p>Maybe I'm just to easy to please, but story-focused games that attempt to cross-pollinate gameplay conventions from typically disparate genres interest me <i>way</i> more than 90% of the FPS games on the market that are more-of-the-same with a fresh coat of paint.</p>
<p>I think we should expect more unique experiences within a single game world than we do from most genres. Personally I think games like what Too Human is attempting to be are expanding the appeal and legitimacy of the medium to a new adult audience in the same way that the Wii appeals to a more casual, youth audience. Great story and presentation with cool looking but simple gameplay (let's just hope it's <i>fun</i>). Hell- my <b>wife</b> is interested in this game, and she plays absolutely nothing but Mario 3 &amp; DOA, and even that's rare. What's that tell you?</p>
<p>If you're expecting it to be just like DMC, or any other game it partially emulates, I think you're sort of missing the point. Same thing about the camera system. If you're one of those people who constantly need to be moving the camera (admittedly like me), this camera system is gonna take adjusting to.</p>
<p>Whether <i>different</i> is good, bad, or neither still remains to be seen I guess, but I for one am still very hopeful. I wish more developers would take such risks...</p> <p>stranger</p>]]></description>

		    <description><![CDATA[<p>Sometimes you guys are incredibly nit picky about certain games and then other times you go off giving rave reviews to games that dont deserve them.</p>
<p>I just watched a round table about the game and quite a few gameplay vids.  The camera looks fine, better then DMC4 anyways, and the gameplay looks and sounds very good...and the story could be the right mix of odd that it just works really well.  Silicon Knights has always been about great story and I see no reason why this game wouldnt be the same way.</p>
<p>I cant wait!  I wasnt hyped about this game until today, between your minor issues that really are nit picking, and all the videos ive seen...gonna be a great game.</p> <p>parad0x360</p>]]></description>

<P>On topic, they better iron out the technical issues cause that shit will drive me crazy. If it runs well and there's tons of loot to find a la Diablo I'll pick it up but if its marred with technical problems no amount of loot is gonna convince me to get it. 		    <description><![CDATA[<P>I, for one, am willing to experience something new, even if it does not work perfectly. I mean the biggest complaint for Lost Odyssey was that it was too traditional, yet the reviews for the 4,032,587th shooter score well since this one features something new that you can blow up.</P>
<P>Gamers are just spoiled and unwilling to take a chance on a new game. The media is corrupt and too opinionated to give games a fair chance. I mean No More Heroes was the most fun I had with a game in a very long time and the reviews only focused on how dated the graphics looked. The best is when a few reviews gave negative feedback for how the HUD was so old that it looked like it was taken straight out of GTAIII. The irony is that it was taken from GTAIII and that was the entire point.</P>
<P>I an excited about Too Human and even some negative feedback on technical features will not detour me from giving it a try. If the game plays like Two Worlds, then yes, it will be a sad day but if they can deliver a game that plays like the hybrid, bastard son of Devil May Cry, Diablo, and Geometry Wars with a little God of War thrown in for fun, then count me in!</P> <p><a href="http://">Hiero Glyph</a></p>]]></description>

<p>I gotta say that these impressions have piqued my interest. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.</p>
<p>And you guys above were right on the money regarding Lost Odyssey. LO for me, has been one of the best games I've played in a long while. It is a JRPG, including all that genre's cliches and pitfalls, but you know what? Its good to play a game that is just honest with itself. <p>But I agree on the Uematsu part. LO's music is good, but not distinctively good. He could have toned down on the techno/rock tracks (especially the World Map music, which is soothing with the flute, and the harp, and then ELECTRIC GUITAR WTF!?).</p>

<p>Consider it if you enjoyed games when Squarenix was Squaresoft. That should sum it up. I don't know, maybe its because I am an early 80's baby and the pique of squaresoft games hit me right at the age of 9 or so and I will always have a vision of the gaming days back then.</p>
<p>It has the old-school feel with a bit of the twist. But the storyline is just rock solid with little to no holes, a cheesy moment here and there, and the dream sequence is just most excellent.</p>
<p>The only thing that fails in this game?, Uemetsu. He can't seem to let go of the FF series as the sounds and music has distinct similarity.</p> <p>Fyren</p>]]></description>

<p>The funny thing is it's because the decision to use the in-game engine to render cutscenes mostly, which yes, should be a good thing, but I've heard that since you can switch the audio languages on the fly, it might hamper the whole loading time when rendering the scene as all audio streams are synchronized 0___o</p>
<p>Ironically, LO cuts  back on the streaming FMVs to scene, and you actually want more of those! Because they load faster, look fantastic, and usually involve something awesome that the in-game models can't do!</p>
<p>Also, depending on the region of your 360, I suggest if impossible to get the Asian-English edition of LO (which is produced by Singapore, which is here ^_^). Fully translated English menus etc, the bug fixes in the North American release included, AND original Japanese packaging with the lovely boxart and mega-four-disc arrangement.</p> <p>Byakko</p>]]></description>

<p>(And, in a vain attempt to legitimize posting in this thread) Too Human was a game that, after seeing the initial trailer, I had ruled as being uninteresting to me. If they can pull off the Devil May Cry/Diablo hybrid, with some serious open-ended exploration/dungeon-crawling, then this game has my solid attention. If it's just going to be a hack-and-slash on rails with an inventory system, I'll  pass.</p>

<p>I've had comments from my buddies, who have <i>never</i> played a JRPG since maybe the Playstation 1, and basically became Xbox junkies, picking this game up and really loving it, battle system and all.</p>
<p>It's not too far a stretch that the decision to be old-school might actually be a good reason considering LO is on the 360; home of the gun-trigger-happy crowds. Simple is best for introducing a lesser known genre, no?</p>
<p>Though LO's battles are <i>not easy</i>. You will die, no matter how experienced you are in JRPGs, you will die, and it's even likely it'll be just a random encounter.</p> <p>Byakko</p>]]></description>

<p>From the beginning I wanted to love Too Human. I liked the idea, even though it was a forced 'epic' idea, trying to make themselves the match-up with God of War (naturally choosing the <i>other</i> ancient mythology, hm). Well, if they put their heart into it, maybe it'll be just as great? That was my initial thoughts.</p>
<p>One thing I could never understand was how bad press that I honestly didn't think was <i>that</i> bad (except for the case with Epic, which is plain stupid on Silicon Knight's part IMO) could really affect this game to this point.</p>
<p>Hopefully, it'll bee <i>decent</i>, even it's no longer a must-buy for me, unfortunately. At best, a wait-and-see-and-be-pleasantly-surprised.</p>

		    <description><![CDATA[<p>Judging by how poorly the press rated Lost Odyssey, and seeing your review, I feel like I'm going to go with my gut again as a gamer.  LO's detractors pointed out the stupidest things as excuses to mark the game down, and completely missed the game itself.  They want game production to be this hegelian process where all of the good things in videogaming past get swept into the development undercurrent and become self-inclusive in all games henceforth.  The thing is, it's what they feel are good aspects of a game.  Lost Odyssey has technical issues, but not enough to keep me from thinking that the game is more dramatic and involving than all of the post-snes FF games to come out of square.  I guess zippers and belts warrant an extra 20 points on the rating scale.</p>
<p>I definitely respect mcwhertor's response- it's better to infuriate Dyack with negative press during the final testing stages of the game rather than wait until release and then say, "remember when I gave you good press?  That's because you paid me to."  Mcwhertor points out all of the salient points of the game that can still be fixed, to avoid a slipshod release that could really effect ratings, and therefore sales.</p>
<p>Having said that, I will buy this game.  I trust dennis dyack, and I can tell that by the tone of the article, I really have nothing to worry about.</p>

		    <description><![CDATA[<p>Well, I've never taken an interest in the game, but it definitely looks alright. Still, so many games have been in development and they turn out to be surprisingly mediocre. Not terrible, maybe better even than years before when they were almost releasing and they postponed it, but still nothing spectacular.</p>
<p>Also, I'm sick of promises of "We were too lazy to program a proper Camera system, but you don't need it, because the camera is smart enough to know where to look!" When, surprise surprise, it ends up being a pretty crappy camera. Only game to pull of camera angles with grace was God of War(I've only played 2, can't judge 1) and there were a couple odd glitchy spots towards the end of the game, where the angles didn't quit work out. But otherwise, the controls moved in sync with the camera perfectly.</p>

		    <description><![CDATA[<p>Nearly every area seems to have issues. That's not a good sign for a game that took this long to be released. I fear that this game will really be flooded with cutscenes. I'm not really impressed with anything I read in these impressions, but it does provide me with a good scope of what to expect and that's appreciated.</p>

<p>Oh yeah, they had that as a downloadable video on Xbox Live Marketplace for one of the Bringing it Home events (either X07 or E3). It was very over-the-top and very cliched.</p>
