there has to be a free-roam co-op mode, where you just go enjoy the city with your friends online. if there is no mode of that variety, it is a HUGE loss for the game.

on the plus side, this is the first i've heard about how the cinematic mode allows you to slow time down to a snails pace at ANY time. that should come in handy.. although im sure its a bar that needs to charge, or something, rather than being available at all times.

OH, i have a QUESTION! will this game run in 1080P?

I really hope there will be bicycles again in GTAIV. After finishing the GTASA missions, I had a lot of fun going on bicycle rampages, since you can bunnyhop over obstacles, survive ungodly falls, shoot any direction, and they are completely indestructible, even after a gigantic pileup explosion! Nothing was quite as satisfying as picking up your bike after a horrifying, fiery bloodbath, pedaling away and giving a little *ring-ring* on the bell.

The player calls 911 to get hold of a cop car. Alternatively, you can just raise hell as in previous games until a cop comes to stop you.

As soon as you break the law a shaded circle pops up on your radar showing you where police are looking for you. If you can get out of that area before your spotted you can lose the cops and, eventually, your notoriety.
I thought that was pretty cool. Didn't know that before.

He then uses the computer in the police car to search what Rockstar says is a massive database of criminals for his objective, which is then entered into the GPS system.

Then there's the Euphoria engine which gives characters a sense of self-preservation. As mentioned in construction site portion of the article, people react to the environment in unique ways. Your character will brace himself for pain such as the impact of an oncoming car if he can see it coming.

There's also a new cover system which is leaps and bounds above the "stand there and get peppered with bullets from all directions until you die" system.

The people in the world have changed as well. Rather than have NPCs wandering blindly on the sidewalks and driving the streets in circles waiting for you to run them over or jack their car, people have places to go. They buy hotdogs, get mugged, go to work and generally interact with each other.

Car chase, target gets out with arrow above him, easily take him down, wanted level raises, cops come after you, road blocks appear, helicoptor turns up. It's EXACTLY the same as the others in the franchise.
True. But that's the core GTA gameplay, and if you don't like that, you won't like the game.

What's innovative is the immersive and complex world that's wrapped around what you mentioned.

Yeah, they've shined it up, but who cares? What was mentioned in this preview that you couldn't do in the other games? Car chase, target gets out with arrow above him, easily take him down, wanted level raises, cops come after you, road blocks appear, helicoptor turns up. It's EXACTLY the same as the others in the franchise. What's new about all this? I'm seriously asking, someone tell me what innovation has been put in that doesn't just make this simply more of the same with some next-gen shine?

I've heard this mission detailed a few times, along with another mission where you have to find a guy by calling his cellphone and spotting him in a crowd when he answers. It's all the little things that are going to make this game incredible.
