I rememebr a few weeks back he mentioned that the formula, as it stands in played out with Head on's Extra tewisted edition, and that he's like to take the series in a new direction.

Remember, TM:Black was inspired by "Twisted metal meets Silent Hill".

Imagine a more story driven, interactive, and dread filled twisted metal. Thats what I think they are aiming for, or at least I hope so.

Although he's said God of War was his "big, epic" game and he won't be doing another one, I kept secretly hoping he would announce he's doing another one. Not another God of War, but another epic title. I'm not a huge fan of the Twisted Metal games (or any games with vehicles as the focus, come to think of it) and think Jaffe really created something special with GoW and am wondering if he'll ever dump the car fetish (Calling All Cars, Twisted Metal Extra Twisted Edition, Twisted Metal for PS3 ...).

@JACKAL888: Actually Jaffe just commented recently that they aren't JUST about small arcade games. They are mainly about games that are halfway between that and huge epics. He gave Warhawk as an example, so expect the new TM game to be a full TM game, no doubt, but be download-only and have heavy focus on multiplayer.

Too bad Vigilante 8 arcade is only coming to XBLA and not PSN too... :(

Friend of mine and I played non-stop when we first got it because of the 19 note Paint It Black tease. We had to beat it to hear the rest of the song.

Oh, and the code of the secret message was lame. 1=A? I independently developed that code when I was 8. Would have been more effective if either, A) You didn't announce "There's a code." or B) made it at least slightly challenging.

And whether Jaffe or 989 did the games, the point is that here's ANOTHER one. Certainly Miyamoto hasn't personally handled every Mario or Zelda game.

Personally, I'm all for good games no matter what number is behind the name and what mascot characters are present.

The on-line feature alone has MASSIVE potential. You can create custom games to choose how many players, map rotation, win count, or even make it so certain rooms are limited to one vehicle. Could you imagine playing a game with like 16+ Sweettooths? I could even see him revive the custom car feature from TM4 only with waaaay more selections so you could create your own car with custom specials/sounds and have even more competitive matches on-line

Excellent news! I've been wanting to hear he'd be back to work on a new Twisted Metal game. Hooray! I loved Black when it came out, and played part 1 & 2 on the PS1 religiously. Part 3 & 4 were meh (thanks 989), but I still slightly enjoyed them. Black was by far my favorite though.
