Haha this is awesome. If Mass Effect lets you have male-male relationships in it's next game, then maybe gaming/gamers will be a step further to acceptance of homosexuality. What's great is that I do genuinely believe people will ignore the achievement for fear of being branded gay. By 'gamers' I don't mean the community here, it's just the amount of abuse you see people get during games. That video that 'gaygamer' guy posted was shocking.

Secondly, I meant that it's possible to be uncomfortable with homosexuality, but not discriminate against it. I have a slight issue with the achievment, but whatever. It's like, who cares? And there are countless others who have that very same notion. It can still be an issue, or controversial, without anyone being opressed. Geeze.

Some guy doesn't want to buy the game because he doesn't like the achievement, that's his choice. There's nothing wrong with it at all. Sure, it may be indicitave of 'homophobia,' but if he hasn't acted upon it in an unhealthy way then screw it, he hasn't hurt anyone. I don't like eating lunch at restaraunts in the castro disctrict (the 'gay' district of SF) but does that mean I'm opressing anyone? I mean sure, if someone knew of some damn fine eats there I might give it a shot, but otherwise I just don't head go there because it makes me uncomfortable (among other things like distance and there being nothing to do but thats besides the point).

@dynendal: Why is everyone bashing dynendal? Like it or not, homosexuality is still controversial in America. Yes, even among the normal people and not just the crazy zealots. Killing yourself in Turok is as bad as killing a team mate because you can only, gasp, do either with explosives. I've done it accidentally so many times I'd have gotten the grab bag achievement on accident by now. I see more people screwing up a match saying, "don't kill me, I'm killing scorpions," then someone just offing themself on purpose. It's simple, it's fast, it's only once.

The point is, everyone scared off Propoganda from a trivial achievement while Rockstar chugs through with what is, factually, more controversial. I'm sorry a lot of you can't accept people who are uncomfortable around homosexuals, but they make up a huge portion of America, and a lot of them aren't whipping out the pitchforks and torches.

@Kirbytheslayer: Thinks AAA is a great term: Kirby you don't know what you're talking about. If you've played even one Turok match you'd know that a single public tk is less of a burden then getting jumped by a raptor at the wrong moment. "Upsetting the infastructure," is a huge overstatment.

I'd say that by treating both achievements equally (ie, lightly), they're making a very serious statement in a light-hearted way. And that can only be a good thing.

Everyone should buy this game. As for the achievemnts, in this case they are bad. They hurt the game more then they add to it, I think they are pretty stupid and if they want people to play the game in the way the achievemnts are made they just killed a great piece of game I found to be artistic as much as entertainment.

And I bet someone will react to this in the mainstream media /sigh

Rockstar pisses me of, I support them but they are starting to wear that down to hatred. Still, this is a great game and you will enjoy it if you never played it, and remember gamer points means nothing :)

I dont think that Rock Star is pushing any kind of limit. this is just an optional portion of this game, much like the sex scene is mass effect that got fox news all tied up. Look, two guys kissing doesnt appeal to me either, but the year is 2008, who the hell cares know what I mean? Its just a silly mechanic in a video game. Many people try to demonize Rockstar having boy/boy action going on, adding "well he's a teenager so it shouldnt happen", hell if thats the case he should not be able to kiss on girls either, correct? Kissing people (note i said people not girls or boys, i mean after all we are all just freaking people) is just a silly and pointless game mechanic that adds more depth to this game. if you dont like it, dont pursue it. Simple, right?

OK,
1st like all video games, they are meant to act as an alternate reality, we all know we're not an Italian plummer, or a genetically engineered super soldier fighting the Flood and the Covenant. So what this game does is put a segment of the population who was probably bullied at some point in their life, and puts them in the bullies persona. This allows the player to take on the roll of the bully to experience that roll or in the case of this achievement to humiliate them (or express a hidden desire as some bullies I know have revealed).

2nd, anyone who plays FPSers online will eventually pull a TK. So let the point whores do it now and the occasional oops happen later. So by intent or by mistake it will happen.

3rd, I've never played Bully so sorry for any inanacurate ideas involving plot in my first point.
