Kojima prefers the english voice acting to the japanese, so his "definitive" versions tend to exclusively have an english language track.

Only reason I didn't buy the Japanese version myself was simply because I don't own a Japanese PS2 to play it on.

I payed a lot more to get that version a few months ago and it was totally not worth it. Subsistence on the other hand is very well worth it over the original. I hope it still includes the original Metal gear and Metal gear 2.

I sold my copy of metal gear 2 and 3 when I heard the collection was coming out for more than it cost to buy it. I still have my original Metal gear solid 1 though and I think I'll keep that one anyhow.

The voice acting is better in the original (although, nearly all the same actors are there), the music is INFINITELY better. "The Best is Yet to Come" is one of, if not the best theme song, with "Snake Eater" dueling for the top spot. The first-person aiming in TTS pretty much broke the game, much to its detriment, making it entirely too easy.

For those of you who haven't played the original, play it! Twin Snakes is akin to a remake with none of the same spirit of the originals, or the main-storyline games.
