Because..... they´re both luigi and mario... and they are playing on the wii with fake Steering wheels, and theyr are floating on invisible karts, so the shadow is there to simmulate the illusion that they are both driving carts and having fun while they aren´t on real karts. So the designer thought it would be a good idea to summerize those sensations while wrapping them on a wii-style package. if the game is indees mario kart wii, the design of this box suits it. Be it fake, a "beta" mock-up or not.

IMHO if someone didn´t get it, so the box art doesn´t works. Since the Wii design isn´t about clever stuff but "broad market", even Silvester and Tweety must understand the pack on sight.

If a person spends 48 hours solid playing WOW, they aren't a hardcore gamer (a hardcore WOW player yes, but not a hardcore gamer). Really, I think it all comes down to quantity and variety.

I think of it like the 68-95-99.7 rule. 16% of gamers are "Casual gamers" (1 system only, has a couple of games), 16% are "Hardcore gamers" and the remaining 68% are just gamers.

Here is a list of what i woudl consider to be a hard core gamer
1. Has beaten 2-3 games last month.
2. Has purchased 1-2 NEW games in the last 2 months.
3. Has REPLAYED some of their old games lately to get a better score/higher level/beat boss faster...
4. Has 1 or more Current Gen systems
5. Usualy has 1 or more older Systems
6. Checks online or in magazines for news on upcomming games

..Just my take on a hardcore gamer..

That's about all I can can come up with off the top of my head, but as you can see, well have different ideas of what "hardcore" is.

But then again, Link's Crossbow's gaming experience is very shallow compared to Mario Kart's playability factor. Anything is possible at this point. Thus far, major retailers are packaging the two together for the price of $50 (in the U.S. at least). Having the accessory packaged in with the game seems to have no real cost on the consumer unless the price is going to be upped before release...
