I still don't see why so many people think this guy is a GENIUS. I know people have their own taste and all, but all the games I played from him are basically average. Even the beloved "Physconauts" keep giving me memories of Evil Twin. He's not a bad designer at all, but I don't see were people come of calling this guy a GENIUS, compare to the Rayman dude(Beyond Good & Evil anyone?)

I never played Halo, so I can't guess that Master Chief is so generic that people only talk about his face or his helmet...

When I first played a MGS game I wanted to see if the Snake had anything more than a cool bandana and a eyepatch, then I finished MGS3 and saw that the character had more depth than I was expecting.

Well, now that we bring up the topic of Drake's shirt, I have to say, the way it moved and animated was fantastic. Most of the time I see cloth never move like cloth, in this, the shirt would wrinkle and flatten as he'd move. Even if the wrinkles were mirrored when his back shifted, it still looked fantastic and was a nice detail most people seem to shrug off.

I was amazed at how many people you had to kill in the game. I mean, this was no Raiders of the Lost Ark, where there's Nazis galore. They're all hired mercenaries whom you have no qualms about killing. I started questioning myself during the game thinking "how good can this treasure be, anyway?".

Oh, and Tim...I think you can only get away with the half-tucked look if you've got the slim Brad Pitt bod. But people who look like Brad Pitt can wear just about anything. People with guts look like slobs unless they're in suits.

I should have expected that from a person who made a game about head trips.

Interesting, and a way more productive use of processor power than the melting ice in Metal Gear Solid 2 because unlike the ice, the shirt stays with you the whole game. If you're going to give a cosmetic item its own physics engine, you should at least make it something that everyone will notice.

@Bakeroo: Shorts and a t-shirt might be fine if you're sticking to the beach, but the greater portion of any remote tropical island is thick jungle, and jeans and long sleeves are very good things if you try and push through that.

I was more amized by the way clothing in the game reacts to water, and how consevativly everyone is dressed. In an age of muscle bound supermen and scantly clad sex goddesses, the cast of Uncharted were well dressed, and actualy something like your average Joe or Jane. It was refreshing to see that in a game.

FINALLY! someone notice it!! the cloth render is something hard to do in the pre-render enviroment, I was surprised to see the job of cloth render in real-time in Uncharted. I told of the cloth render to a friend in Uncharted but he didn't believe me until he saw it (we both works for an architectural company and manage to do some renders)an he was like WTF? when he saw the flow of the clothwork on drake.

Is amazing that almost no one notice this, and it's more because I never saw in any system the cloth render in real time.

Yes, it was kinda "uh?" the point over Drake's shirt but it was more important to notice how well ND worked on the dirt over the cloth, the wet, the movement over the polygon work.
