1. like many people said, there are plenty of reasons to mod your xbox without pirating.

2. They never claimed it to be 1500 drive in SUCCESSION... they probably did use the same 1500 over a few times. They never claimed it was one continuous line. Putting the clips together just made it more worthwhile.

3. If you set up all that, would YOU redo it all... or would you kick the one that fell down and keep going?

one thing I noticed is that this video really communicates the elegant design of the domino...see, notice how in real domino videos the pieces ALWAYS fall at a constant pace, and never slows down or speeds up? if the piece was even a little longer or wider or thicker (like the hard drives here) the pace would be disrupted since sometimes the hard drive would fall entirely onto the next one, or fall out of line, etc.

@ MIGHTYHEALTHY: I agree. This video is kind of disgusting...to have all that money and still be involved in an illegal business just proves that this guy takes everything he has for granted and doesn't appreciate how lucky he is to have a house like that.

At least there was enough outdoor imagery to probably identify the house and the lake it is on. This guy doesn't seem to be too smart, but none of these guys doing stuff like this are. I had a well-to-do roomate who did stuff like this for the heck of it, all a result of being overprivledged and taking his life for granted. Thing is, he did it for piracy purposes and he would steal my games that I bought with my money when I wasn't around and would pirate copies and then resell them.

To the couple of idiots spouting crap about modded Xboxes:
A) A modded Xbox makes a great media PC at a fraction of the price of buying a proper one. So there's one good perfectly legal use for it.

B) Not all modders sell games preloaded on to the system, a lot just charge for installation of the modchip and harddrive. Generally because they can make good money off this due to people too lazy/technically inexperienced to do it themselves (when me and my Dad did it we installed it ourselves, a bugger of a soldering job).

So I think I speak for all of myself and anyone other likeminded individuals (generally those with an IQ above 4) in inviting you to stop being an idiot.

That's pretty sweet.
As for all the "Modding is illegal, you must die" people understand that there are definite advantages to modding you xbox. One huge one for me is VGA support, as well as XBMC, and backing up games, it is much more affordable to have a halo LAN party if I have it backed up on my xboxes and the official disk in my 360, I don't download/pirate games but the advantages are well worth it especially once you have moved on to the 360

Since there are so many non-piracy related reasons to mod an xbox we can't assume that this man pirates games. What I can say is that I believe that this video could have been done in one go, and that even if it wasnt it's pretty cool and looks like it took a lot of work. Nice job!

I modded my original Xbox for the sole purpose of having a non-HD streaming device for my TV. I wanted something that would play every format known to man from my puter to the TV. I also wanted to watch Youtube videos on my TV as it's much better for a group to gather around a TV than a computer monitor. The original Xbox with XBMC does just that. I do not play games at all on the console as I have my 360 (with legit games) for that purpose. I also get my video podcasts through stream scripts, so I get a kickass gui and instaplayback when I want to watch Diggnation, the 1up show, cranky geeks, etc.

There's no need to purchase a modchip to do it either - I just used a memory card and Splinter Cell and did the workaround via software.

So as you can see, ass (yes you Jcnet), it's not all about being a pirate. Get off your holier than thou pedestal (yeah, because you've *never* downloaded anything illegal either /sarcasm) and come down to where the rest of us are - honest people using technology for still legit reasons.

The original Xbox was highly desired to be modded. I think the chips go for approximately 40-60 dollars, and the mod job alone will often push the price to 80.

He's accumulated all the old 8gb HDDs that no one wanted because the mod allows you to swap your HDD up to a maximum size of 250gb.

@ 1500 mods... he probably pocketed a cool 30k-60k depending on what he was charging

Exactly, it was clearly not a continuous recording. There were cuts and therefore the actual amount of HDDs is highly questionable.
