<![CDATA[ - Kotaku Comments]]> <![CDATA[ - Kotaku Comments]]> <![CDATA[]]> I started to play some COD4 last night around 8PM Chicago local time and couldn't get online for the first 35 minutes, I kept trying though since I had a few buddies who were on and I hadn't played with for a while well, I guess the problems started happening when I was finally able to log into the system....all of a sudden, my whole friend's list emptied out. slowly but "Shirley" (Sic) though, they all started to pop back up and we were able to game for about 5 minutes into the map Countdown (in ground missle silos) when all of a sudden, I see these messages on the lower right hand corner of my screen saying that the person got disconnected and then one by one, each of my friends and the rest of the room's players would get disconnected from COD4 and Live (you need an active network connected to play on XBOX Live). That's not the worst of it all.

I have 4 guns that I have "posted up" around the 143-147 kill count and was planning on getting to the next few levels rather quickly and it would happen in the first few minutes but when I would get disconnected, I'll find that my kills didn't count and rather went to packet heaven or eaten up by a network deamon (you network nerds know what I'm talking about) so I would have to go through the painful process of getting 4000K points and then subsequently having it ripped away from me. Man, talk about COD4 Blue Balls. It was a COD4 Hell.

I know I took this 360 off a friend who was looking to unload it and gave me a great price, but these problems have ensured I won;t be purchasing any more MS products. Well besides Windows, even though I hate Vista. Linux doesn't have support for my wireless adapter, so I am SOL.

]]> <![CDATA[]]> Last night i had to call Support to figure out what was going on. Every time i tried to recover my Gamer Card, it woudl get 75% of the way done, and give me an error. Something about X-Box Sign-Up not being available. They had me clear out some temp files, and it stil didn't work. I think i got my Gamer Card transfered and working around Midnight EST (i am in Detroit). Surprisingly, the only other problems i have had was on Christmas Day, but they still have to get these isues fixed. I am going to go back to PC gaming if they don't get this pay service working.

Still cod4 network interrupted messages but I think that's now related to the host leaving "bug" in cod4 they promised to fix in the upcoming patch.

And I am highly upset, that it tells me to UNLOCK the full game when I already own the game and have played it several times. This has only been happening since live has gone screwy. I am not saying that ALL of my games are not working, but more than half of them are not UNLOCKED as I would call it.

I have no other major complaints, just a few slow load times in the dashboard from time to time.

The majority of host ended matches are when people with slow connections get put in an open room and then they try to host a game which ends for everybody in disconnection.
