Overall looking at the Wii graphics - seriously they're fine? I mean they're the same as, or maybe slightly better than the PS2 graphics, we already knew it was a PS2 port with just a few extra bonus features, graphics weren't astonishing on PS2, so what was anyone expecting?

Sure the 360 graphics are not so hot compared to the platform expectations, but again, it's a port of a PS2 game, what do you expect?

There are so many reasons on why I loved this game on the PS2. For starters the musical score in this game was so tantalizing to the ears. The voice acting is simply some of the best I've heard. The character's dialog seemed so natural and unforced. The mood was cheery and light without being cutesy. Each and every character (especially the students) had their own personalities that I actually took interest in. There are few games where the NPCs are so layered. Finally not many games that represent homo/bisexual characters in such a positive light.

I just love this game!

I was mesmerized for hours by the presentation of Mass Effect, Oblivion, Motorstorm (in 480p no less!), even Lost Planet, and the graphics added to the MOOD of the games. In fact, if it wasn't for the graphics, there are some games that I never would have completed (like Tomb Raider-Legacy, which had some of the ugliest character models that I have seen in a long time. The model of the young Lara was so abysmal that I stopped playing right after that).

If the Wii is a current-gen system, then so is the original XBox, which in 2001 supported BOTH 720p and 1080i out of the box. In fact, I guess that the original XBox must be a 3rd-generation quality system, since that seems to be what the next Game Cube successor is going to strive for.

But it isn't so much about resolution, its about the quality of the textures, lighting, character models, etc. that add much to the experience. Thus far, from my POV at least, the Wii has failed miserably, and I own one, but it has not been turned on now for about a month (for an update and one game of "the Bigs", and six to eight tedious hours of Super Mario Galaxy).

2) What was the game of the year in most sites and magazines? Call of Duty 4 (Kotaku doesn't count because multi-plat games were eliminated by default). What is so great about it that makes it stand out among other shooters? Impressive graphics.

So yeah, for a PS2, a PSP or a Wii, graphics don't matter. But don't tell me graphics don't matter AT ALL, because I don't know a lot of PS3, 360 or new PC owners who will rush to buy a game with poor graphics.

Sure it's not fantastic GTA4 quality, but the game is still easy on the eyes, and the biggest update it needs is a smooth framerate, sharper picture, and no fog.
