i actually work at a gamestop, and gran turismo is OUT of our new release section in our computers. and it was in our updated emails. so.. i dont think they would completely cancel gt for the psp, but if they do come out with it, i highly doubt its anytime soon.

so those who are holding back, don't waste your time, buy something else. i have always had sony systems, ps1, ps2, psp, nothing xbox, but i have to admit. polyphony is one of the worse companies out there when it comes to actually getting a game out. think about it, how long does it take just to put out a game, thats already made!? whatever, it was all just a big tease.

I have the 360 version and enjoyed ripping their map to shreads with all of the inaccuracies with locations, plant life, buildings etc.

But I can see why they did that, and it still was a fun game to drive around the island. Though the cars felt a bit too "light" if you know what I mean.

Lived in Oahu a good 20+ years of my life drove around most of it too.

Still amusing game though!

It's a fantastic game on the PSP, covering a whole island and has some pretty excellent racing. There's alot of cars and the online racing is excellent. Whilst it won't replace GT for many of you, it's well worth picking up. With that, Burnout, Outrun, Ridge Racer and Toca I don't really mourn the loss of this. And you can prob emulate the PSone games.

I bought wipeout with the system at launch and pretty much for the first two years it sat on the shelf collecting dust. Then I heard about all the emulation and PS1 games that can be played on it. Ever since then its been used monthly. I have Gran Turismo II loaded on it and it works great on the little screen.

The game was held up as an example of the kind of graphics that the PSP was capable of producing. Gee I guess not! Can Sony really get away with this? I guess according to Sony all you have to do is just take the latest greatest console game, Photoshop up some screenshots and claim it runs on your new hand held then quitely cancel it in a few years and hope everyone forgets about it. Let's face it. Most games for the PSP are total garbage and none of them have graphics anywhere near as good as the GT screen shots. I hope some money grubbing lawyer sues Sony over this. They deserve it.

Of course, that day never came and I still don't have one. I'm sure I'm not the only one in that boat. Additionally, I know some people that did buy PSPs in anticipation of this game, only to end up pissed off and selling the system. It's really a horrible black mark on a system that really is quite good. I'll eventually pick one up for the JRPGs, but the misinformation about GT mobile really did some damage to the platform imho. I probably would've bought one a while ago if not for the frustration over this game.

1.use GT4 as a base and port that with some additions/modifications and a new title. people would be happy.

and/or

2. develop a game that works in conjunction with gt5 but is about as light weight as prologue and at maybe 10-15 dollars as a PSN download. Maybe allow you to tweak your car and do a couple of laps with it in a few test settings, and then import those tweaks into GT5.

I doubt Sony would let the PSP not have a GT title.

What I *do* remember is having a few N64 titles that were completely unplayable unless you had the ridiculously hard to find memory expander, so that kind of colors my thoughts on the future of the PSP.

However, while I think it's a remote possibility that we could see it, I certainly don't think it's going to start magically happening all over the place either.

As for GT on the PSP... I can't imagine a worse control set up for a game that requires such precision. SSX On Tour was bad enough to try and control.
