Anyways, Obama stands a decent chance of winning in November if he can win the nomination (especially as he'll pull in a lot of the minority vote), but Ice-Queen has a lot of cred where it counts _right_now_, which is with registered Democrats. If she gets past the nomination process, she'll have a tough go against any halfway decent candidate that the Republicans can toss out, especially if they pick a moderate like McCain.

And that's unfortunately the problem with the election process. It completely favors the party hard-liners in the nomination process, since you usually have to be a registered party member to vote (and the same sort of people are more likely to register with a party), but in the general election all the swing votes are looking for a moderate candidate to draw them in. All things being equal, a moderate should win the presidency over a 'winger every time. Now, anything below the presidency will be more likely to shift to the extremes because their districts will often skew significantly to the left or right.

As for Hilary's stance on issues - from what I've seen in the international coverage of your election, she's the only one who actually has a stance on issues. She goes into so much detail when people ask her policy questions it nearly bores me to sleep - which is actually a sign of someone who knows what they're doing. Obama is a truly inspirational orator, but he's very light on the detail of what he's actually going to do to bring his (very appealing) rhetoric to life.

I dunno, maybe you can't really tell unless you're there in the thick of it, but Hilary really seems to cop of lot of unwarranted flak when she's the only one actually putting her policies out there.

But anyways - all I really care is that you people don't put the Republicans back in. They've screwed up the world enough!

Well I haven't posted yet in this article, but I personally don't like Hilary because of some of her stances on issues, but more so because the bitch won the NH primary through sympathy; not because people thought she was the better candidate, but because they felt sorry for her. Obama was projected to win and he didn't because a bunch of old hags who are about to kick the bucket anyways and shouldn't vote decided to register last second and vote for Hilary. I despise anyone who would try to con the people the way she did to get votes. The voters don't want her and yet she just keeps fighting.

I'd say Ron Paul would be a 360. He's got a very unreliable past (see the recent New Republic article) and a rather violently provocative online following. McCain would be a PS3, a veteran with loads of experience and knowledge but just can't reach out to the newer, younger customers like Obama can. I mean VOTERS.

They forgot to mention that Obama, like the Wii, lacks substance and is more for "casual" political peeps and not for the hardcore who want to have a proven candidate with a deep political message. Pretty, but shallow in the end. I don't think the other characterizations are quite right though.

As far as console noises go, while the 360 is absolutely the loudest overall, I've actually found the seek-noise of my Wii's DVD drive more disruptive. I consider it more noticeable because of its irregularity; every once in a while I'm playing I'll hear that "vvvvp vvvvp" of the disc seeking, whereas I can filter out the consistent hum of the 360 drive.

In a sense, I have the same problem with Obama that I do with the Wii - a classic case of rhetoric versus truth. There's a misconception that in beauty lies truth, something that appears to have contributed to an infatuation which Obama that focuses upon a ill-defined promise for "change". No one can deny his considerable skills as an orator, but you'd be hard pressed to convince me that he's doing anything other than playing around the issues like any other leading candidate at this point. Like the Wii, the promise of what Obama COULD bring to the table trumps the reality that we're being pulled forward by promises rather than more substantial evidence that a promising future lies ahead.

Of course, Hillary isn't without her flaws and certainly isn't above adopting the rhetoric of her competition in order to further her cause. (She too is fighting for this nebulous "change" within America these days) This is neither surprising nor unexpected. When the 360 gets a waggle of its own, we can come back and put another feather in this article's cap.

And Edwards? Like the PS3, it's been about a year since people were talking about him en masse and it'll be another before we figure out where in the hell they stand. The race may appear wide open, but the window of opportunity for these two seem quite as large as it once did.

It's a shame that we couldn't work Kucinich into this. I can't really figure out what console he'd be though. Maybe he's just a peripheral or a killer app instead?

Now I don't own a PS3, but every other time I visited a gamestore with a PS3 on display, there was a distinctive Jet like Roar coming from the region of the PS3 which gives me reason to question your statement.

The PS3's fans sound like its preparing for take off.

The Xbox 360's disk drive sounds like the disk is desperately trying to escape.

And the Wii, while usually quiet, will unexpectedly start shouting about from its disk drive or fan with a sound I would not have expected from its usually quiet demeanor. (perhaps it was drunk)

It sort of makes me miss the cartridge days, when our consoles actually were inanimate objects.
