Anybody comparing SSBB to this...well its just dumb. I won't even argue which is a better game series, but they're barely even comparable in terms of style and content. Yes, if you put them right next to each other and grade them point by point, Smash probably wins many categories (graphical fidelity it might lose). That doesn't make playing SC (any game in the series) any less fun. SC is way better than Tekken, IMO. The only series that rivals it in 3D fighters is probably VF, though I felt 4 was less than exciting...not bad just not that exciting.

Of course this is different than Spawn. Assume these characters never existed before and appeared for the first time in this game. Darth Vader has robotic limbs, blinking lights, and a sword made of energy. Spawn has chains, is undead, and wields a handaxe. Spawn (or Heihachi and Link for that matter) don't seem that out of place at all for the game's setting and backstory. Vader makes as much sense as if they were to add RoboCop or Optimus Prime. Then there's Yoda, who's sure to be for SC4 as Gon was for Tekken 3. Everybody loved Gon, right?

Spawn and Link in SC2 kinda bothered me but this couldn't possibly be more shoehorned in. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Soul Calibur is the epitomy of storytelling and that its vision must be pure, but there's no way to take the game seriously now. SC on the Dreamcast to me was significant for being a fighter with at least some coherent story and setting and this throws all of that away. If you want a Star Wars fighter, make one. Use the SC4 engine, it'd be cheap and sell like gangbusters. For those of us who aren't particularly Star Wars fans this is just tainting one product for the sake of fan service.

Snake, at least is a gaming character, but he's still somewhat out of place amongst the other characters, simply because he comes from a more 'realistic' environment. Spawn, eh.. I guess they just couldn't find anything better?

The way I look at it though, these are movie characters, not game characters. Plus, not being a fan of Star Wars nor the DoA style next-gen boob effects, just makes me blah even more at the game myself.

But this - THIS - has got to be the coolest thing ever. I'll have to buy it, since its the closest thing to a Masters of Teras Kasi sequel that I'll get.

Vader is modeled quite well; he looks like he can pull off a couple of roundhouses. Chuck Norris would be proud.

By the way, am I the only one that liked Teras Kasi? I played the hell out of that game.
