There's so much good talk about this game, as well as a lot of enthusiasm from the developers.

I don't have a PS3 (yet), but I hope it delivers the goods. Then there will be Killzone2 AND Haze next year.

@Raziel66: Crap. That's not good at all. I thought it was delayed to first quarter. If the US site says august, that implies freakin 3Q 2008 release. I really really hope that's wrong and I hope Haze comes out in January. I was hoping this thing would come out in Christmas and now, there doesn't seem to be a real date nailed down. I guess I'm gonna hold Ubi to their Q1 2008 date.

@crim: One can argue that spending $10M on a marketing blitzkrieg for a game is a sign of being unsure of the game's ability to get attention on its own.

It's marketing some throw money, some throw fake syringes and others throw ads at it, in the end is the quality of the product what matters because marketing is only about getting your attention to the product, not defining its ultimate quality.

I admit I'm not familiar with the plot/setting of Haze, but it looks as though a military type cat is the main character.

If so, his drug use is UTTERLY legitimate, as it's been standard practice for decades to dose-up combat troops with dangerous drugs.
Helps 'em stay awake, maintain reaction time, kill more efficiently, and occasionally encourages them to launch air-to-air missiles at civilian airliners...

I have no interest in this game it looked so incomplete the last time they showed it, the Drug thing would wear a little thin after awhile (like the gimmick in Fear)... But it was a classic moment when showed the abject horror of Miyamoto-Sans face when they showed this hyper violent pro-drugs shooter th Mr. Mario himself....I often wondered why didn't he go to see the littlebigplanet demo?

I would do it, for one thing just because I (think I) love Haze.

But.......that thing is useless to me. No offense to the people who like it, but I'd much rather have some sort of figurine than a pen.

Also, some gift card or voucher would do it for me.

Still leaves me with the problem: Should I pre-order Haze in general, or wait and get it a few bucks cheaper? If I'd pre-order it, then this is of course the best option. Rather have a pen than nothing. :P

At PAX they gave out Haze caffeinated mints. The box that they came in was a little black box that when you opened it, there was a mirror on the lid. So they were essentially giving out portable coke mirrors/safekeepers.
