I've only had them since Christmas morning but the little time I've put into Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed since has blown my mind. 8 speakers, a built-in Xbox Live mic, and rumble!

I don't care if I sound like a plant, they work amazingly well. Check them out if you can.

Absolutely! I have one of the 1272's with a 100" screen, and it's sweet.

I was running it at 1080p (using a Moome card) and it was driving it way too hard. 720p is about the best "reliable" quality it can give. But the G90 is a 9" tube, and has no problems with 1080p.

In the right conditions (blacked out room or at night) CRT projectors have awesome colour and contrast (black levels are amazing). I'm yet to see an LCD screen that even comes close.

Sweet nice to see a CRT projector setup (CRTs are completely under rated and can get for cheap). I have a lesser model (Sony VPH 1271q) compared to his Sony G90 (sweet projector btw)

I have to say after about 6 months with a 5.1 surrond system that stereo just doesn't cut it for me anymore.

I have to say that if you want the true experince of a next gen game / HD/Blu-ray you really really, need to pick up a decent surrond system and sit in the middle of it.

I've never been much of an audiophile (the sound system was my first one, and bought mostly on a whim), and to a degree i'm still not, BUT I couldn't go back to straight stereo, I just love my sound setup too much.

Hey Mark, I'm still using stereo myself. I love stereo, I think with the right monitors you can get a wonderful stereo field. I've never really been interested in bothering myself with a surround sound setup.

@dynendal: If the walls are made of the right material, they probably dampen noise quite well, which is what I'd want out of my theater system (especially in a space that size).

@Monsterbeard: I actually scored a Toshiba model about 2 years ago now. It's only 720p, but it has a really pleasant image quality. I'm not sure that their updates look as good, but I dig a good DLP more than many very respected (and far more expensive) LCDs.
