@BruzeWayne: This was actually discussed on the Rock Band forums ad nauseum. I would've loved to have seen Orange box on there, but you're right about it being a licensing thing. Only games that EA develops in-house were eligible AFAIK.

@spartan789: thank you for bringing this to everyone's attention (and Tiger is a great way to go, btw. i'd get it if i didn't already have it but its a great game for online multiplayer).
anyway, the people who get a free game are getting it because they had to wait longer for their replacements than everyone else (by about a week to 2 weeks).
also, for those of you thinking you will get the special edition package of rock band are wrong (unfortunately. that would be a rad xmas present for someone!). It does say right above the list of games that its for SOFTWARE ONLY. i got excited for a second on that one, too.

Here's my question: where's the Orange Box? I was totally looking forward to finally getting it (and for free) but sadly its nowhere to be found on the list. I'm not complaining, just curious why it wouldn't be on there. I mean, a free game is a free game and I love that EA is doing this. Is it because they're only offering games that EA develops as well as publishes? I didn't think EA was the developer for C&C, but I could be wrong. Someone who knows or isn't as lazy as me wanna weigh in?

ps - I already have skate and yes, that is by far the best game on the list in my opinion.

Make sure you are going through the link in the email they send you and not off the page here. It seems to be tied directly into your EA account that you used to send your guitar in. If you click the link above, whoever's page that was from already picked their game so it won't work.

I just ordered mine and all it does is say, "Thank you, your order will soon be processed", after you have selected the game.

For those wondering about why they aren't getting one, it was only for the delayed shipment around Thanksgiving and then only if you did the expedited method where they charge your credit card and send you a guitar right away.

I'd recommend Command and Conquer to those who haven't played it. It deserves its "tough as nails" reputation but it's pretty damned rewarding once you get the hang of it.

And the campy FMV scenes between missions are hilarious.

EA continually suprises me these past few months, I'm actually starting to think they are a really nice company (gasp).

And yes Mr. Plunkett you are right that skate. was underapreciated, as someone who has played every (well not any of the handheld ones) Tony Hawk game skate. was needed to get Neversoft off their asses and make some improvements. THPG was good but skate. just blows it out of the water, with some fine tuning (stupid downhill missions) skate.2 will be the definitive skating video game.

Also I hope that when Rock Band finally comes to our hidden island of Australia that none of the guitars have these problems, I h=think that would send most people over the edge.

@Gunhaver, mishakoz: If you've got a PC and you enjoy RTCS games, sure. Picking up a RTCS for a console is the ultimate exercise in folly, and you'd be hard pressed to convince people otherwise. Skate is a good skating game and a good console game, and is definitely worth playing if you've been into skating games in the past.

Command and Conquer 3 is very good... I'd recommend it. Especially to fans of the original C&C games.

However, I guess all C&C fans would already have it anyway.

I'm not getting the site.

I chose the game I wanted, and it says "You've already picked your game." and doesn't have any address for me to enter or anything.

Was I supposed to get one of these in email? I sent my guitar in and got a new one a week after the game came out.

That's actually an insanely good list. Command and Conquer 3? Command and Conquer: The First Decade? Skate? Rock Band (admittedly, an odd choice, but a great game, nonetheless)?

EA, I'm impressed. You could have just sent everybody a copy of Harry Potter, but instead gave people not just the opportunity to pick a game of their own, but gave them a list that's got quite a few titles on there that are worth owning. Kudos.

Pretty much the only good games on that list are:

Command & Conquer and Skate.

Or you could get any PS3 game, then go to any Wal-Mart, and exchange it for a game of your choice.

too bad I got my guitar replaced in an amazingly short amount of time. Oh, wait, that's probably a good thing.

Unfortunately, the replacement guitar is also acting a bit funny on me, with overdrive activation being rather finicky.

Hey, not a bad deal, EA. I gotta back Luke's suggestion, I picked Skate up not long after giving the demo a spin, and it's a really good time. If you haven't checked it out and this all applies to you, it might be a good time.

I do think it's a little odd that Rock Band is on the list, considering if you had the problem in the first place, it's likely that you already own the game... Still, I guess it's cool that they offer it in case you feel like being generous and giving it to a friend. Or screw that and just sell it to a friend for $30.

Anyway, props to EA for being very decent on this overall!
