Bought a PSP for this very game, but I'm cool with waiting. I have plenty of other games to keep me warm and cozy this winter and into spring. The PSP has one hell of a library built up, and I'm reaping the benefits of great cheap games.

About time there are some dates floating around. See this is why I can't keep track of these games that seem to release before I expect them to; all these other companies aren't taking the Squeenix approach to announcing games five years before the game's actually ready to go.

And I'll just hold out some hope that they're not planning to release all of their games in the first four months of the year so that maybe we'll see some of these other interesting looking games (Dissidia, DQ4 remake, etc.) in later months.

1.-The characters are among the best of the series,guys like Sephiroth,Cid and Vincent had a real strong attitude,girls like Aerith or Tifa were the girls that anyone liked,one the cute,the other the kick-ass,even Cait-Sith was a deep and interesting fellow!

2.-The History is just great,is like reading a book with turn-offs,take-overs,and keeps you hungry to know more and more,and we have to include the side-quests,the arcade´s hall,the chocobo racing,oh man,you can actually live in there(There´s people that keep in this piece of heaven game right now).

3.-The fights were awesome,just to remember that damn Weapons,never a fight can be so hard as the one with the Ruby Weapon,try to beat it without K of the Round materia...XP and the style is just an evolution of the previous games.

4.-The very first cinematic RPG that defines the whole genre from that and beyond(keep forward already)with CG for the most emotional and important events in the game,and the OMFG sequences of the summons O.o

5.-A very interesting materia system,maybe you miss the fact that is already the same system of the spers in my favorite FF of all times,the VI,only that you change the espers for materia,Voala!!

6.-A world perfectly good designed,so well that you can explore many times and discover the hidden areas and feel the noticeable difference among all the places and towns,like Midgar can´t compare with Red XIII´s town or this with the naval base,and so on...

7.-And a seventh reason(that exist many more but we keep this altogether with the game ;D ,me and a 10 million of VERY FINE TASTE RPG PEOPLE,should teach you what this great game it´s all about.

P.D.It´s fine to share your opinion with us,just don´t trash an excellent game(my second FF at the mean time)

I've heard good things about Crisis Core. Apparently the main mission is pretty easy, but there are very difficult side quests for you to do. This is the game that will make be pick up a PSP--I hope there is a special edition model.

But Crystal Chronicles comes out the same month. My time and my wallet are going to be coming up short.

@Grahamunculus: I think it's the same reason why people went to see the SHITACULAR Star Wars Ep. 1-3 movies. People pretty much knew that after The Phantom Menace, that the other two would suck, but went to see them anyway. I guess it has to do with knowing more about a story we were so immersed in.

I also suppose that is why we as gamers also bought Final Fantasy X-2, and the Kingdom Hearts 2 (Granted, Sqeenix cheated us out of the final mix). I'm thinking that they may eventually do all the other FF games like this, even though the Chronos series would get a HUGE nod from me!

How Squeenix probably hadn't even thought of releasing either a new Chronos game, or re-releasing an old one is beyond me, though... It was one of the reasons why I stunted my growth as a teen!

Don't get me wrong, I loved FFVII but how could any game based on it be as good or better than the original? Half the reason anyone loves the game by now is mostly based on nostalgia. I hope it's good but I wouldn't count on it.

@Stormrider900: The initial reviews say it's much faster than Ergheiz ever was, which makes me hopeful. Even if it isn't, it won't be the worst mistake I've ever made when purchasing a game, which currently lies with Grandia III.

@equin0x: I've got a good bunch of reasons FFVII should die and it's completely in regard to the original game.

The script was trashy, the plot a generic Steam/Bio-Punk apocalyptic fitting of the mid-90s anime scene. The characters were also quite bland. It isn't until AC that they've got any meat to them.

The battle system was horrendously broken and exploitable.

The materia system was horribly gimped in comparison to the job class system and esper system of the previous two main installments.

The world design, once again, horribly bland and generic. Character design and clothing designs following suit.

It was a mediocre game that got attention like the poster that immediately replies "FIRST!" but instead of being on the receiving end of a ban hammer it became a somewhat fond memory for many, a sheep dog for others, and a point of contempt for the rest.

Like Evangelion, it didn't deserve the popularity. Yet, just like Evangelion, the creators feel the need to whore it out instead of actually moving on and accomplishing something. It isn't their fault though. No, in the end it's the market that's to blame.

At least Zack's story is interesting.

If the PSP keeps having good games just get one. Just because you own a PSP doesn't mean you have to give up your DS. Or whatever.

i am happy for the other squenix games but OMG FF VII NEEDS TO DIE!!!!

Everything FF VII has saturated the market soo much, everywhere i look is FF VII, sure the game was great back in the day but damn it kinda like milking a dead cow to get the remainder of the milk
