They can hold anything that can be digitized. The one readable one on the site says "Hi Boss".

usually they're URLs, but I've seen a lot of them on business cards with your contact info on them. (think put someones name phone number and address in your phone in about 2 seconds, vs.....)

I've also seen resumes, chat icons, ring tones and images of other QR codes directly encoded in them.
