You could always translate Halo into some sort of religious theory. Like Master Chief being a representation of Jesus...with guns...sacrificing himself for the sins...err lives, of the human race.

And uhh...you can pick whatever deciples you want. The black guy (from aliens) can be john the baptist and the arbiter can be Luke or Paul or Peter or whatever you want.

yes, the star on top of the tree is supposed to represent the star the three magi saw on the night jesus was born. I'm not big on religion (last time I went to church was probably 15 years ago), but it is a Christian holiday, and the star on top of the tree is a religious tradition.

I don't always put a star on top of my tree, but I sure as heck don't put anything representing some sort of consumer product up there...

@MBCpeanut: Not usually full on worship, but there's supposed to be some sort of symbolism there that requires respect and more notice than other things. So it's not really the 'piece of plastic, covered in tinsel, with multi-...' that's being worshiped, but whatever it represents.
I believe the tradition of putting a star at the top of the Christmas tree was inspired from the star that the three wise men followed in finding baby Jesus. From there, people started putting other things up there.
Also, it sounded like Akmed was being sarcastic and trying to crack a joke, but I'm not sure.
