You know what I think? I think all of us crazy gamers that import DS/Gamecube/Wii games, etc. should get together ... pool our little cards together (the ones that come with the games new) and find someone cool that lives in Japan (like CheapyD or Witzbold for instance) that could cash them in for us and send them to us for a small price. I know I'd be willing to pay a LOT for items like this... Nintendo, we appreciate the free stylus offers and stickers and such, but we DEFINITELY need these types of offers in the US. Heck, sell them for $20 and I guarantee you'll make MILLIONS.

Nintendo really needs to make console specific controllers id buy 2 nes and 2 snes and 4 N64 ones (Thats is Super Smash Brothers ever comes to the VC) And RetroZone does have SNES to GC adapters but trying to find a real (nintendo brand) non nasty SNES controller is very difficult.

I never liked the SNES controller, it gave me hand cramps. The NES controller is not without it's flaws either (square corners not good for your hands). So far the Dreamcast and Gamecube have had the most comfortable controllers for me.

Prior to the launch of the Wii, I bought some Hori Gamecube pads that are shaped similar to the SNES controller. I still wouldn't mind having replica controllers for nostalgia's sake, though.

That's pretty cool. I wish the classic controller felt more like the SNES controller. Going off-topic here, I also wish it had an option to toggle between B/A and Y/B for NES games. When I'm playing SMB, I want to hold Y to run and throw fireballs and press B to jump. Trying to use B to run and A to jump just doesn't work for me.

Its ok. I recently picked up an SNES on ebay, and I was amazed at how much I loathed the controller. Same reaction with the classic controller as well, I can't use it without the Nyko grip now.

Newer, ergonomic controllers are far better, especially for people who don't have tiny hands, like me.

In comparison to Europe the US and Canada are the lucky ones! We get every japanese made game or console at least 6 months after the japanese release, (and at least 1 day later for american made games) we never get any cool stuff most definitly not from the star catalog we got a zelda cd once and the only had like 10 copies. And to top it all off we never get limited editions! (Except for the really really big games where the limited is not that limited.) Im so jealous of the rest of the world :(

@Grave: I forgot about the analog triggers. Yeah, I agree; they needn't have been analog... for VC games. But some Wii games use the Class controller, like the upcoming Smash Bros. Brawl, which will likely use the buttons' analog-ness for shielding ala Melee.

Random rambling: I wish you could plug any USB controller into the Wii and configure it for Wii games or VC. I would LOVE to plug an XB360 pad in. Or a keyboard. Or my upcoming 360 arcade stick. =)

Mario Galaxy ST and an SNES controller. I disagree with the majority of the room, the n64 controller felt awkward to me, so I skipped that console, much like I did with the cube because cube controllers still give me hand cramps.

The snes controller though was just simple evolution, which carried forward into the Sony Playstation. And yes despite the fact that the classic controller is larger, it would still be awesome to play with the sleekness of the true classic SNES controller.

They could make a killing. Think about a brand spanking new NES, SNES, and N64 controllers say for $15, $20, $25 a piece. Have them come with a one-time use code that would give you one free download/chosen game for the applicable system. There is a market.

Hell, sega could make some hardware again, if just controllers, if they wanted to do a genesis one.

(I know about the retrousb site, I have a snes controller in pretty good condition from back in the day that I was thinking about using, but finding old controllers that arn't nasty... Thrift stores, swap meets and flea markets are not my thing. Besides, those adapters plug into the console, not wireless via wiimote - I guess the protocols for using that port are not documented for third-party without a crazy license fee. I would use one of their original USB adapters to do emulator gaming.)

How about an adapter so I can plug my old SNES controller, or NES controller, into the Wiimote controller. Even having an adapter that can plug into the Gamecube jack on the Wii would be acceptable. For bonus idea, the adapter could also have extra batteries to power the Wiimote even longer.

How about a stand alone unit that you can plug all of the older controllers into (SNES, NES, Turbo-Grafx, Genises, etc.) and communicates wireless to the Wii, without needing to plug into the Wiimote.

I think you can, with some tinkering, make a Wii compatible SNES/NES/N46 controller... basically replace the plug with a Gamecube one or somethng.

@Langis: I would be inclined to agree if the Classic Controller didn't have analog triggers which feel bizarre for SNES and N64 games. Why do they even need to be there? It's not like you can play GC games with it.

I don't really care when Club Nintendo gets useless trinkets that aren't available to the rest of us. But this? This bothers me a bit.

The SNES controller was amazing for its time, but has NOT aged will. It was small and flimsy. The Classic Controller is about 100x better if one isn't wearing rose-colored glasses whilst looking at the past.

As a sheer COLLECTIBLE, however, it's pretty cool.
