This news has thrown the press into a frenzy, with everyone predicting that Sony will no longer be able to compete in the "hardware sales chart" portion of the olympic events. Well known analyst Michael Patcher proclaims: "Microsoft will beat Sony by atleast 200 console sales in the event. The actual number may be even bigger when you consider last month's announcement of Lost Odyssey as a Team Microsoft character. Sega is clearly a MS fanboy."

In response to this announcement, Sony has issued a press release stating that anyone pre-ordering this game will receive two complimentary gifts: a bumber sticker stating "MSG4 is *still* PS3 exclusive" and a t-shirt displaying "FF13 is the new FF7". Story here. I was one of those skeptics that hated all things xbox myself. The system looked like a pile of trash to me. the controller felt like a big retarded dreamcast controller. I HATE the dreamcast controller with all my living will.

Anyway. Come one christmas I stumble across about 2k in interest on some land I sold and bam. Nothing else to do but get a GCN cause I was gunna go play pso with friends of mine. I picked up the xbox as an extra with halo. After that I became a firm believer in the Xbox. It was honestly the system I played more than my ps2....until that next new jrpg came out.

Come a few years later, I get a job at EB and then I'm staring down a 360 premium box. Remembering all those fun times I had helping my weeabo friends overcome their msoftaphobia, I pick it up. Box was quite heavy considering. My first game is Gears of War. I call up my friend who was the biggest "i hate xbox cause msoft is evil" till he played Halo and Ninja Gaiden, he and I sit through and play the entire game on insane.

Nao a year later I'm sittin here with a buttload of games(one real shitty part about vigya game store is that all your money goes right back lulz) and my friend traded his wii to someone for a 360. I sold my wii due to a flat tire and a broken window. Something you would know you had to make a choice of what to sell.

Certainly the wii that was collecting dust after beating Zelda.

Good times good times.

In short little buddy, don't be an idiot. How about you get over your jrpg boner and try something new?
You'll be happy you did. Hell, I've been through 2 360s.

I mean the PS3 out sold the 360 by a HUGE margin when it was first released in the US, but obviously that didn't really mean anything either.

I don't think it's any big surprise that the 360 is picking up steam in Japan, it's all about marketing, the Japanese are just as susceptible to it as us, if not more so, and MS is pumping huge amounts of money and resources into their effort there. The question is, are their gains proportional to the effort expended, and the obvious answer is 'no', they are getting very little return on a huge investment.

It's a little ironic that it was slated for release on the PS3, and all of a sudden it hopped over to the 360 with no news of a future PS3 release. So Ace Combat, the new 360 bundles, and a slew of platinum hit titles being released that week like Idolm@ster (which shot back up to the top 25, 10 months after release) definitely helped the 360 beat out the PS3 this week. I used to be sony/nintendo only. PSP, PS2, N64, etc. That's all I played. I then tried Star Wars Battlefront at a friends house, and it ran better, looked better, and just felt better. Then I participated in a Halo 2 LAN. I bought an Xbox the next week. Because I was ignorant, I missed out on Halo CE LANs, which from what I hear, were even better.

Fast Forward a couple years, and I am enjoying my 360, along with Dead Rising, Gears of War, Eternal Sonata, Tenchu Z (hey I like it!), and tons of other great games. I have also had 0 hardware problems like some people complain about, and I have owned 2 360s (one since launch, one elite since launch)

They have yet to do the chipsets, to my knowledge, and even if they did it doesn't fix the OTHER issues they've had, like faulty DVD ROMs, frying graphics cards...

And the heatsinks have done little to nothing to fix the overheating issue. Mine supposably had the new heatsinks, and it fried again within a few weeks.
