I think this game will suck on the PC without the 360 controller, due to the Roll/Run button needing serious access to freedom on the move buttons. If you're gonna get this, get a 360 controller too.

I've seen enough Gears on 360 to last me a lifetime, I played through it a couple of times, and gave online more time than it deserved. It just failed to offer anything new to the FPS genre. I'll be leaving it alone when it comes to PC and concentrating on playing something more interesting and innovative, like solitaire.

really i wish microsoft would do more concurrent releases. Halo 3 and GoW are great games but as an avid FPSer i can't stand controling them without a mouse and keyboard. i would actually prefer for games to come out on the PC as the graphics are the best, customizability is usually higher, and i get a selection of control schemes.

@Witzbold: This is exactly why they should of had movable pushable objects with cover to keep thing out of the lame stalemate area.

Also too this is a normal map test for most modders.. well the true test for most as we've had normal mapping for a while.

I predict ram sales will go thur the roof...LOL you need 4 gigs to really get in the normal map creation game! I'm cool with this game as it is always cool to show up people unofficially..LOL J/K they got some good work in there yet I think they are a little conservative for their own good...

I'll be curious to see if they've fixed all of the glitches in the PC version. It would be embarrassing to see the chainsaw glitch (in its numerous permutations) make its way to the PC.

Man, it was pretty hard knowing that as a 360 owner, I'd be missing out on a whole Act from the PC version and 4 new maps but a map editor/maker? That's freakin' killin' me. I really hope it's one of those complicated ones I could never use, then it wouldn't be so bad.

@Hoxie: I dunno bout tactics, since it was mostly turned into camp shottie matches. Where one side or both just camps with shotties and waits for the other to come around a corner and point blank them.

There wasnt too much tactics in gears, asides from staying in a group = death to the lone wolves. But that works for any shooter really.

I cannot wait to play this. GoW for the PC is one of the main reasons I actually plunked down some cash to get a maching that could run it. I guess I could have spent a lot less and just got a 360 but, meh, i'm not a fan of the machine.

Yeah, I'm looking to unload my copy of Gears. I got maybe 2 weeks out of it before I got so bored with it I never want to put it in my 360 again. It was great beating it twice in co-op, but that's more than enough of that one. MP is pretty bad really.

I certainly don't hate on PC gaming. I always point console graphics whores towards the PC market. While the PC IS definitely the best gaming platform, Gears of War surely doesn't make it so.

This is just what the game would have been ORIGINALLY if it would've been on PC first. No big deal really, there's nothing here PC gamers haven't had for years.

@Runna: Ive always loved the CMPs (Community Map Packs) that Epic gathers together and releases, or the fan sites that do them. Since goddamn some of the shit the fans make just blows away the originals. Even Cliffy B at times is highly impressed with what comes out. Then I assume he goes and kidnaps them to be added to "horde" working in Epic`s fortress of doom!

@Mienvard: please man I have models on my hard drive right now, well not this PC that would put the in game models to shame! Fully normal mapped! with animations ready! Hell I think I'm actually going to make most of my toy collection for these next batch of PC games mods and hell some porn stars while I'm at it I guess since I can't possible do that in a real game...LOL. You can not do that on a console. Actualy most of the guys working on your console games are breed on good ol PC modes...

oh sorry guy your drunk! Thats cool... I expect big things to be made once this comes out. It may not be this game yet the next wave of PC games is going to produce some heavy creative competition. this is needed very badly right now in game graphics on any HD platform. People rely on realism too much right.

You know what? I don't care. This'll be Gears Of War Extended Edition, but so what? 360 owners have been able to get to know Marcus and his vendetta for quite a while now. So what if PC users get a couple extra chapters? Haven't they waited long enough for this story? I'm not 'hatin' on the 360 community, I've got a shitty PC, the 360 is my main gaming console and I only use my comp for WoW as of now, but really; Those of you who complain about extra content on Windows contra the 360 should really get a grip on the technical differences between the two platforms and consider the time spent developing the new material ready for release.

If this all comes off as incoherent gibberish, then I'm excused, since I'm severely drunk right now, and merely writing off my wraiths along with this fine red wine (or shitty red wine. it's red wine, that's all I know).

once you've played through the story a few times (normal?-insane), the game doesn't look appealing even on a new platform. the multiplayer wasn't as awesome as i hoped it would be either, it was basically all dodging, point black frags/sawing ppl.
